I actually never thought that setting the port open with TCP and UDP could cause this problem. It never occurred to me to try that to see what would happen

Mmm... No. I just tested it on my router, configuring that port with both protocols, and it works perfectly. You must have done something else... I've eliminated that common problem from the wiki. It's not true.

I'm guessing you just had the port closed or configured only with TCP protocol.
