Docker Compose Backups - exclude directories

I have been testing the backup option for docker compose and it works very well. I have some docker containers where the config data files are a few gig so I increased the maximum size to 5gb in backup settings. However, it backs up directories in the compose file that I don't want to backup. When I go to schedule, it gives you the option for "file excludes" thought I would test excluding a directory here but it did not work. Sure I am doing something wrong but is there any one for the docker compose backup plugin to ignore certain directories in the compose files? thanks

ok I found the guide online and found the following -

• Typing # SKIP_BACKUP at the end of the line that defines a volume will exclude that volume in the backup.
