Temperature CPU?

  • Thanks for your work. When i turn on only one switch like cpu temp or mb temp or other its working ok i think, but if i try switch cpu with mb temp or other it give me failed message in bug.txt

    new sh -x in sensors.txt

  • That partly good then :)

The output of sh -x /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors looks to be with everything off, can you enable everything or at least where it errors then run that debug command and give the output.

  • That last file looks like it did not finish after trying to run /usr/sbin/omv-mkgraph That command is run to generate the graphs so it could be an issue with combining the graphs (Create 1 graph for temperatures)
Does it still error when you do not select that option?

You could (with everything turned on in the plugin) try manually running /usr/sbin/omv-mkgraph and see it it throws an error, if not or if you want to you could also run sh -x /usr/sbin/omv-mkgraph to get more info (copy and show me)

    These files

    Code
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/collectd.d/sensors
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/collectd.d/mb
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/collectd.d/fan
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/collectd.d/sys

are what the script generates and /usr/sbin/omv-mkgraph uses to make the graphs. Depending on what you enable some of these will not be there, if you can with everything enabled show me each file so i can make sure they are generated correctly.

    Thanks

  • Hello.
    Sorry for wait.
When i enable ewerything i have bug.txt you see.
So i enable everything and do

    Code
    sh -x /usr/sbin/omv-mkgraph

like you say. Output is in sensors.txt
I can enable everything without cpu fan now.
In *.jpg files i want to show you what i see when everything without CPU FAN is enable.
MB have 2 temps and i have only one. SYS FAN is 3 and i have only one showed.

  • You should be able to now enable the cpu fan.
As you are the first to ask for this could you possibly test all the options to make sure whatever is selected works?

Don't forget you still need to pull that latest version of the script with the command i gave you before.

  • It's great. Small steps we go to the end.

So now i can enable everything and its working fine.
    1. Can you do that in the script is shows all fans in system?

    2. Do you plan add a voltage tab?
    3. I read about you plan adding a hdd temp tab?

  • new question: It's possible to move sensors plugin from download mangers?? to other proper repo like utilities.

Is really difficult first time to find sensor plugin because donload manages repo is not related to temp and fan sensors.

  • Hello,

i have got the same problem, i am not able to see other sensors like fan speed, i just can see the cpu temp. i tried to install the new version of the plugin as described:

    Code
    rm /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
    wget -O /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/openmediavault-sensors/master/usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
    chmod +x /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors

this produced an error, i just could see (with errors) the cpu temp. then i decide to uninstall the plugin using "Systems/ Plugin / Uninstall sensors" this worked, then i installed it again using the offical plugin. now it´s working like before, but i´m still not able to see for example the fan speed.

    Any idea ?

  • @Sunseeker I need to see if your hardware needs to be added, If you could re-install and give the output of the following 3 commands

    Code
    sensors
    ls /var/lib/rrdcached/db/localhost/sensors-*/
    cat /proc/cpuinfo

Try enabling 1 sensor at a time and see what happens.
Also run the commands i gave Sunseeker (above) so i know your hardware is supported.

I tried enabling 1 sensor at a time and that did'nt work.
I reinstaled the program with reboots in between and no result.
Then i did the commands and still got the same result.

What version of OMV are you running as your hardware should work. The plugin should work with OMV2.x
There are no errors from the script so the files should be generated correctly, can you post them?

  • Hallo,

  • @mhbosch
You need to enable the download managers testing repo, that latest version should show up in the plugins list

    @marcellos85
mhbosch has the same hardware as you so it should work, he is using an older version of the plugin so will see what happens once he manages to install the latest version.
Not had a chance to look at your files yet but will do this evening.
