Oscam on OMV 6 or OMV 7

I have an Oscam server running on my SAT receiver but when I switch off my receiver I lose TV image in my bedroom. So I have decided to move my Oscam server to a Raspberry Pi. I assume it is possible because it is based on Debian. Can somebody please confirm or give some hints? If necessary, I might upgrade to OMV 7.

Is it OK to follow this, both on OMV-6 and OMV-7?

I don't know much about dockers but I guess I have to learn.

I assume I should first upgrade to OMV-7? Or not?

When switching to the docker image, I understand I need to configure OMV settings again? Or not?

All that is necessary for my HDD to keep working.

Especially Storage, Services, Users menu items.

Now that I have upgraded to OMV7 I understand I have at least two choices:

- install Compose Plugin For OMV7 and then oscam container (if I call it correctly). The oscam will later be updated automatically whenever the docker image is updated on the hub. Correct? In this way Oscam will not interfere with the system.

- install Snap and then install Oscam through Snap.

OK, so I will go for the docker option.

I understand I first need to follow this guide to install the compose plugin:

omv7:omv7_plugins:docker_compose [omv-extras.org]

And then how to install Oscam?

Like this:

docker pull lscr.io/linuxserver/oscam:latest

OK, I will familiarize myself with it a little more.

Which is better?

1) install docker compose and oscam on SD card?

2) install docker compose and oscam on HDD attached to RPi as NAS?

3) any other combinations?

I have finally installed docker compose.

Now I am trying to configure it.

I understand I also need to adjust this:

Also, I am not sure what path I should use.

I have managed to pull oscam and it is running on my NAS HDD attached to RPi.

It is located in /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-....../docker_config/oscam, as suggested by you. Now, the application (oscam) needs several text files to be configured to my liking.

It can also be configured using its webinterface but I would prefer to create/edit/transfer files using (S)FTP.

At the moment, however, I do not see oscam through SFTP. It is probably something about rights/permissions?
