I managed to make the collectd IPMI plugin work (also here). Now I'm interested in having a dashboard widget to show the IPMI sensors, and I'd like some help in doing that. I'm a senior C/C++/Python developer, but I know ziltch about OMV internally. I'm assuming I need to write a plugin. I've read the Plugin Development page, but having a simple example would go a long way (hello world of sorts). I could not find such an example, so I'd appreciate it if someone could point me to one.
I noticed that the CPU widget seems to be based on collectd, so I was thinking that I don't have to add support to the RRDtool protocol. Is this the source code for the CPU widget?
Would the CPU widget be a good starting point?
