IDrive on OMV

  • Has anyone had success running the IDrive linux CLI on an OMV system? I keep getting errors about missing dependencies (but no hints as to what those dependencies might be.) I've reached out to IDrive support, but they keep asking the same questions so I'm not making much progress there.

    My setup:

Odroid HC2 running Armbian 25.11.2 bookworm

    Openmediavault 7.7.23-1

  • macom

    Approved the thread.
  • I don’t know how you install the IDrive software, but it sounds like you are using a *.deb package. If there are missing dependencies, then the dpkg command you are using tells you which packages are missing.

The idrive software for the CLI utility is delivered in shell archive format.

  • Sounds like you downloaded the .bin format package. If so, try the .deb package instead.

A backup strategy is worthless unless you have a verified to work by testing restore strategy.
