when i change the dns on omv im unable to gain access to my pi again. eather to ssh or the omv dash. im not sure why this is happening but i dont think i t should be.

Can you provide us with more details? How are you making that DNS change? Do you have any containers installed that might be related, such as Pihole or AdGuard? Have you modified any settings directly from the command line?

nothing edited through command line. editing through network>interfaces> eth0> dns. issues seem to happen even if iv nothing but omv installed on my pi. if i ping it through bash it just comes back host is down. and the dashboard dosnt load at all but i can still see it in my netowrk.

When you modify the DNS server, do you modify the network interface values or leave it on DHCP?

Method --> Static
Address --> Choose the IP address the PI will use within the network range of your DHCP server (your router) that is not already in use.
Netmask --> 255.255.255.0
Gateway --> The IP address of your DHCP server (your router).
