Remote mount plugin for NFS mounts

  • hi there, been trying this for a while

on my proxmox machine i have setup a NFS server which shares the backups folder, now I am trying to mount it with remote mount on OMV to later on use the rsync function and keep bakups in several places.

The NFS works fine, I have already connected from a third machine

the problem comes from the plugin, as I can see for SMB/CIFS or DAVFS the user and password fields are present, but not for NFS. I have tried instead entering root@server in the server field getting a 500 error

so I don´t see where to enter user and passwd, is that correct?

nfs doesn't use user and password to connect. What are you using to connect on the third machine and what are you using in the remotemount plugin?

  • hi, from the third machine, a VM with ubuntu i just used the file explorer and I was asked to enter credentials. For the plugin no credential entered as there is no place for that

Does it work if you don't enter any credentials (leave them empty)? The file explorer (i rarely use them) must ask for creds on any network share because they are not needed for nfs. That is why I hide them in the plugin.

you have to install nfs-common on the OMV-machine

It is really dumb that I don't have that as a dependency of the plugin. I'm not sure how I haven't run into that in years past. I need to fix that.
