OMV is utilising one core at 100%, even though no tasks are being processed.

  • The process list does not show anything that could cause this utilisation.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? After a reboot, the cpu core is free, but when OMV wakes up from standby, it's back to how it was before.

    Thank you, Stefan

    P.S.:

It looks as if there is a defective disc in the system. Could that be the reason?

  • I had a similar problem (one CPU core constantly pegged at 100%) with an OMV7 on an Intel N100 CPU.

In my case, this problem was fixed after installing the apt package "intel-microcode".

The problem didn't reappear after upgrading to OMV8.

  • I have another problem, I thought it would be gone after the replacement of the disks, but it is still there -

i get emails with the following content:

    Code
    /etc/cron.daily/openmediavault-mdadm:
mdadm: DeviceDisappeared event detected on md device /dev/md/md0
mdadm: NewArray event detected on md device /dev/md0

I think everything is ok with the raid on /dev/md0,
It must be some old entries vom OMV 6 or 7, I am on OMV 8 now.
what do I have to do in order to not get those emails?

    Thank you, Stefan
