Access to GUI not possible (SSH-access working)

  • Suddenly I can't login to the GUI.

SSH-Login as root no problem and the NAS is working.

    Any idea?

    Thanks a lot for helping.

  • there might be several problems, each with a fix.

    - cache problem in browser - clean cache for OMV IP

    - incorrect admin password - reset the admin password with omv-firstaid

    - incorrect port on OMV webui - change it from omv-firstaid to one that is not in use by other servers

    - blocked port between NAS and your PC - check your firewall settings on the PC or NAS.

you should give us more details on the problem.

  • Thanks for replying.
-No cache problem. I tried 3 different browser including incognito. No success.

-admin password is unchanged and if I try another password I geht an error. With the correct PW the Login repeats endlessly. I tried a reset with omv-firstaid wihtout success.

-OMV webui port is unchanged 80

-no blocked port between NAS and client

    Any other suggestions?
If you need more information please go ahead.

Looks like you likely had an rsync run when one of your data drives was not mounted. The guide tells you how go further into subdirectories. /srv is your next step.

votdev, maybe it would be worth making /srv a tiny partition and filesystem. Then, when users filled it, they wouldn't break the web interface.

Yes, this could be the case. I think SnapRAID has a problem but I don't want to take any risk.

Maybe the safest solution would be to backup the data to another NAS and then do a fresh install with the newest OMV version.

    snapraid wouldn't cause this.

I don't see any reason to reinstall. You just need to delete the data filling /srv.

    Could mergerfs cause this problem

Only if you added a branch of /srv.

is ist safe to delete all data in /srv ?

    NEVER

    Just post the output of: du -d1 -x -h /srv/ | sort -h
