OMV8 - sample Photoprism yml

  • After spending a lot of searching (photoprism help, community) and trying to get the Photoprism plugin to work (not) I have come up with a yml (thx to chat) which I wanted to share. It is only for normal, easy and light use, maybe if I have figured out howto connect to a MariaDB it might be better. Anyhow.... it is way better then Nextcloud photos!

  • I gave up on photoprism some time ago because my "photo folder" is big (over 600k photos and movies and a lot of duplicates).

For example, the cache folder reached 170 gb and it indexed a little over half of the photos, when it stopped indexing with some errors that did not point me to any solution.

But I will try again, maybe with your config, some magic happens and it starts working.

I added your yml as an example to the compose plugin. Thanks.

  • Thanks I am going to try this. Just to understand:

    - ${{ sf:"media" }}/fotomap:/photoprism/originals #path to stored original photos

The above is pointed to my source drive of photos/videos which is about 300gb

    - ${{ sf:"appdata" }}/photoprism/storage:/photoprism/storage

I have a separate SSD (about 60gb) for my containers for config files. If I point to my SSD, will this fill up pretty quickly?

The first part says 'appdata' but the second part refers to storage
