Failed to fetch error

Hello all,

I hope someone can help. I have been getting the following error message from Anacron daily since the 21st Aug 2026:-

Before the 19th August everything was working fine and indeed I received an unattended upgrade on the 19th Aug which was reported as successful.

I have changed the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and I can ping DNS 1.1.1.1 successfully. I can also ping deb.debian.org successfully. I can also ping packages.openmediavault.io successfully.

I have also tried updating through SSH with the same error being reported.

Although I have managed to do this little bit of troubleshooting I am not very knowledgeable about any of this stuff, so please try to keep any replies at close to the newbie level.

I have been using OMV for nearly two years now and I think it is fantastic. In fact this is the first problem of any sort I have had with it.

OK. Thanks for the info.

If there is nothing wrong with the OMV system at least I can turn my attention elsewhere.

It does remain quite a puzzle though, that with no changes to the network it should suddenly stop working and if it's the debian mirror that is down it has been down for quite a while now.

To cut a long story short, I rebooted the home router and for some reason that fixed it.

I have no idea why.
