[Solved] No boot kernel after every kernel update

  • Hi,

everytime a kernel update / upgrade arrives the System / Kernel configuration looks like this after the update:

Why does the boot flag vanish?

What would happen if I accidentally just reboot without setting a boot kernel?

Why does the boot flag vanish?

Because grub sets the boot option back to the highest version IF you don't have a boot kernel specified. I know this is different than the plugin used to be many months ago but the plugin is actually reporting the correct info from grub now. You really don't have anything to worry about.

What would happen if I accidentally just reboot without setting a boot kernel?

Your system would boot the highest version kernel.
