How to limit share folder size to 200GB on OpenMediaVault

Hi everyone,

I’m running OpenMediaVault (OMV) and have a shared folder on a 457 GB drive that currently uses the entire available capacity. I’d like to limit this specific shared folder to 200 GB, ideally so Windows sees it as a 200 GB share.

I tried enabling Quotas in the OMV web interface, but I get a “500 - Internal Server Error (Invalid device file)”.

My goals are:

• Limit the shared folder to 200 GB.
• Keep it as a guest/public share without requiring specific user authentication.
• Fix the quota-related 500 error without risking the filesystem.

What is the proper way to accomplish this in OMV? Is there a better approach than using quotas for this use case?
