No icon in tree of web-GUI for shared folders?

  • Hello *,

    Just a quick one:

I do not have an icon for the "Shared Folders" entry (below "Access Rights Management") in the tree of the weg-GUI.
Every other entry has one? -> Is this intentional?

  • Clear your browser cache and click on apt-get clean in the OMV Extras plugin. See if that fixes it. The icon should be showing. It is not big deal if you do not use the tree. I never use the tree anymore.

  • I think for new users to OMV the icon is still relevant. Seeing a blank icon in the tree can be missed easily when they want to navigate to that particular section. Without it being there it leads to confusion in my opinion. In my case clearing the browser cache and performing an apt-get clean did not fix this issue.

What browser is being used? Some browsers don't seem to support the svg icons very well.

Chrome 40.0.2214.115 m (64-bit) on Windows 7 doesn't have this issue for me. Maybe it is an adblocker??

  • I have used Firefox 35.0.1 at the time. Yesterday I got the update to 36.0 and I will try again with that version today. I'll also deactivate the plug-ins. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah that's what I am thinking as well. My Firefox is vanilla with little to no plugins. I'll go through my plugins on Chrome and see which of them is the culprit.

    Probably because of the filename??

  • Maybe it's because of the filter lists that are installed?
I have a "social media" filter list in my ad-blocker.
Maybe that's the reason why of all the icons the "shared folders" icon is blocked...

  • I can't find it right now in the settings, but I think I enabled that one too...

It does not have to be an ad blocker. I have had similar issues when there was an issue with a plugin.

    OK, thanks for the information.
Nevertheless, in my case creating an exception in the ad-blocker for OMV solved the issue.
