On a new SD card.

An answer to this question is a bit useless.
The clean install is gone and yes, writecache plugin was installed.
The update version 7>8 works ok. Also here the writecache plugin is installed and a reboot doesn't have any effect on the system stability.
Sorry if I can't help you any further. My installation works properly in the usecase I need (file server, streaming, user rights, etc).
Hardware: Pi4 + 2 WD MyBooks, OMV 8.0.6-1 (Synchrony), Plugins: FTP, Writecache, Fail2ban, SMB/CIF, SSH, APT, CPUTemp)

Hi,
I had a similar experience with my FTP server installation.
Yesterday, I tried a clean install of a Trixie image with version 8.0.5 on a Raspberry Pi 4. Everything went well until I installed the FTP server. Initially, everything worked until the first reboot. The FTP grid was red, and the error box looked like your error message. After another reboot, the installation was no longer accessible. For me, that meant reverting back to OMV7.
Today, after restoring from a backup, I initiated an in-place upgrade from version 7 to 8, and lo and behold: everything is working perfectly. I can't explain it, but I suspect that all the paths were correctly transferred and integrated into version 8.
Maybe give it a try.

Problem seems to be known already.

Found the mistake in the Shared Folder Settings.

Enabling WLAN interface by gui completely crashed my v8 installation which works okay.
No SSH logon possible. Hmm....
It was a clean installation on RaspiOS Trixie 64bit, hardware Raspi 4 - 4GB.
I'll give it another try but I got the impression that v8 needs -kindly said - attention.

Hi,
keep in mind that SMB1 is disabled in Win10/11 since quite a long time.
So if you enable SMB1 on the NAS I don't expect Windows PC to read the files. -
Hi,
after clean install on a PI4 (RaspiOS Trixie 64bit lite) and install the system works for the drives and my home network.
Unfortunately openmediavault-ftp 8.0-8 is an exception.
Logon works ok but no listing of folders nor files. Just a \, no parent directories, nothing. The FTP shares and FTP setup are configured like in OMV 7.x. A reverse back (by a different book media) works well with existing FTP clients.
Where's my mistake ?
Any hints? Thank you.

Teschbert is fully right. His solution hint for Pi installation works.
1. take out SD card and put it in a USB reader
2. add the parameter "net.ifnames=0" to cmdline.txt on boot partition
3. save file and put it back in your Pi.
4. update and enjoy
Cheers

use sudo:
sudo pmv-firstaid
If there's no access by SSH there's no sudo doing something.

A new install resolved the problem.
No, I don't have an extra Screen and I didn't want that way to go. The OS is a lite PiOs so no gui, no extras.
I'm fine now and system is up an running properly.

Thank you, this made my Saturday evening.
I only have a headless Pi using SSH only.
IMO a OS update changing network configuration should be noticed by OMV setup. This issue today looks to me like a clear disadvantage.
I'll prepare a new setup as I have no other option.
