i see...my fault

Normally i start the sync job manually if i add a lot of files to the server.

The schedule is only a diff... Thought it will sync too.

But should it not sync automaticly ?

i am a little bit confused.
My Server runs a while ( ~1 1/2 years ) with omv 4 without any problems.

I use SnapRaid with 3 Data HDD's / 1 Parety.

If i start a scrub, i get more than 35.000 Errors reported.

After the check command i get > 40.000 Errors.

All HDD's are Green in the Smart-Tab.

So far i have tried, all files are there and can opened.

What went wrong ???

Hi,

my Server crashed, maybe the Bootdisk is damaged.
It tries to start, but reset after a few minutes and start again.

How could i fix it ?

I have 1 HDD for OMV 4 and 4 ( Data only ) Disks in a SnapRaid.

Can i reinstall it ( or better use the omv 5 ) and simply mount the Data Disks ?

In OMV, when you create a user, the user is added to the "users" group. ("Users" is the actual name of the group.) When you create a shared folder, the users group is given read and write access to it by default.

that is exactly what i expected....

when i create a public folder with r/w rights for guests....i can access it.

when i create a user and a folder for that user with r/w rights, i see it in the network overview too.
but i can't login. test ( created user / group users ), admin and root are not accepted

i have no idea why, but my Network-ID is grey....

me too...makes no sense

switched to acl and created some new folders with acl rights.
always the same result

...but the public folder works fine

both did not work...

tried Datenschleuder\test, Datenschleuder\root, DATENSCHLEUDER\test, DATENSCHLEUDER\root

i had this issue with all 4 installations.

already tried omv 5, but same problem

root login did not work. same "wrong user/password"

created a new user. member of the users & adm group. can't login too

i have created a folder for public use ( guest have r/w permission ).

i can open it ( without login ), write and delete

but i would prefer a user based solution....

This is my 5th and last try to get OMV run....

I have :

- installed OVM
- updated via ovm-update
- installed the extra package
- installed snapraid & union filesystem ( originally i only wanted to try snapraid )

same Workgroup...checked

create a folder ( Data ) and a user ( test / test ) member of the group users

after that, i activated smb and create shared folder

aaaaaaand......

I can see the server in my windows network, but can not login.

What was my mistake ????

Rebooting was my first try....didn't work ;O/

It is only the 4th try to to get omv run.

i am working on my OMV Server for 2 days...but really strage things happend.

Test Server :
Asrock K7S41GX - AMD Geode NX 1500+ ( low power cpu )
1 GB RAM
1 x 10 GB HDD ( OMV )
3 x 80 GB HDD ( Filesystem, RAID 5 )

Installed, Raid, Filesystem, User und SMB configured.... WebGUI working, mapping the networkdrive...no problem

BUT...

If i start copying files to the NAS it lost the network connection after a few seconds.
From my WS i can't even ping the OMV anymore.
OMV console shows no message.
From the OMV console i am able to ping my Router, but not my Workstation anymore.

After restarting both i can connect the OMV again.

Tested with OMV 2 & 3...same Problem

WS Windows10 64Bit

Anyone any Idea ????

**UPDATE**
Deleted the RAID-array and use a single HDD for the filesystem.
Problem is still the same...

Hi,

my problem is that ich can't map a drive ( Networkresource not found ).

I can access the Gui via Firefox.
User and Folder is created.
SMB running...same "Workgroup"

Can't see the Server in my Network and can not map a drive via IP ( \\192.168.1.206\NAS ).
After a little while....Networkresource not found.

What went wrong ??

OMV 3.0.36 / Windows10-64Bit
