I also requested bacula as well. I will install and let you know. Does it also install the Webacula as well http://webacula.sourceforge.net/ to manage bacula.

I just ran your script and I don't see backuppc listed. All I want are your core programs and backuppc.
-
I will install via your script as I still need sabnzbd and others working now. When your GUI plugins are ready I will uninstall and reinstall via the gui interface.
-
The last time I used the script I did not see it listed. I was the one who requested it. So should I use the script now or wait for plugin to be developed the same goes for the core programs.
-
OK no problem I can wait. Before I did clean install I backed up all on USB stick so my config is not lost. Your old script version on 0.4 was flawless I mean I had zero issues. All your core programs worked perfectly. Maybe you can add backuppc. Would be really nice to have that program running latest version. The Debian repo is running very old version.

I see makes sense I thought I did something wrong or was missing something. I see you are going to add the Live plugin but what about the other plugins like pvrinput-plugin for analogue support and the others I mentioned above. Sine this is not my final version of omv I will attempt to install those plugins by source and see if they work. It would be really nice to get my my old pvr500 card working again. As of now I have it in a windows server in nextpvr but going to see if I can get it working in vdr. We need mc2xml http://mc2xml.hosterbox.net/ for many people in USA and Canada that use schedules direct. Mc2xml converts EPG data to XMLTV format and then we need xml2vdr to convert to VDR format https://github.com/rdaoc/xmltv2vdr

Is the millers plugin working. I have a new install 0.5 and have enabled it but don't see any of the miller plugins. I have plex and vdr both installed and working.

Here are some plugins you can add to VDR
live plugin http://live.vdr-developer.org/en/index.php
Pvrinput-plugin http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Pvrinput-plugin for analogue cards as well as the ivtv drivers http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Main_Page
Wirbelscan-plugin http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Wirbelscan-plugin -
I have your plugin installed all is fine. Its a fresh install from 0.4 still running on same hardware. On your plugin page you can set country and select satellite however it does not list the correct ones. I selected DVB-S, country Canada and its suppose to have 97.0 west galaxy but its not listed. Also what happens if you have multiple satellites in a multiple lnb setup. There should be an option to select more satellites. So far it works well and is very responsive but since I have not received my dvb-s card I cannot test.

Hi SVS is it possible for you to add the analouge plugin in VDR http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Pvrinput-plugin I have an old pvr-500 and would like to get it to work with VDR. You can add the plugin with the needed ivtv drivers. Sine I don't have my VB card yet I would to test to see if this pvr-500 would work. If you add the http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Wirbelscan-plugin you can scan channels in analogue as well.

VDR is a better option than mythtv as a plugin has already been released. However that does not stop anybody from making a mythtv plugin as well as a tvheadend plugin.

Thanks ryecoaaron looking forward to running hdhomerun on open media vault. So far I have tried it on media portal server with not good results server keeps crashing, have tried it on nextpvr while the server does not crash it plays for about 10 min then stops. I tried it on mythtv and it worked fine. Go figure its stable on Linux......hummmm I wonder why.

Right now the hardware I have is not final. Its a dual quad core socket 771. An old system with 32 gigs of ram. Going to change system because it does not support PCI pass through and I want to use vitural box. Is running 12 3 tb drives on software raid 5. Not the best system buts its OK for now. I have tons of plugins loaded so its easier to just to go fresh install. I have done it before with no issues. My new system will be allot more powerfull with 32 or 64 gigs of ram.

I see there are alot of plugins for 0.5 out http://forums.openmediavault.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2524 I won't wait for wheezy I'm going 0.5 today fresh install.
-
I see there is a plugin for 0.5 but I'm still on 0.4. I'll do a fresh install to 0.5 today. Can you get a script for the hdhomerun drivers going or a detailed guide.
-
If you get it working please post back how you did it. Then a script can be made then last a plugin. I have not installed VDR, I guess it must be done by source since we are still in squeeze I don't know if that will be a problem.
-
From what I can read online it seems that VDR is the best backend and is very stable. The problem is that its not easy to setup compared to tvheadend. Also all the forum help is mostly all in German.
Any thoughts ?

I have started this thread because that are few users out there including myself that would like PVR support in OpenMediaVault.
It would be a backend server and linux based. That leaves us with two projects-Tvheadend https://tvheadend.org/
-VDR http://www.tvdr.de/As for the hardware it would be any dvb sat card and even hdhomerun via the dvbhdhomerun driver http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/dvbhdhomerun/
This backend would have to be stable and allow EPG support via http://www.schedulesdirect.org/ (US/CAN). For others they would use EPG in the ofrm of XMLTV.
We can release it in script form then once its working well a plugin can be made.
As for which project is better well we can discuss this below.
-
I have not used VDR so I can't comment. As for MythTV is no good because it requires X so that leaves us with tvheadend or VDR. I'm using mediaportal sever and it sucks. Keeps crashing all the time and when viewing a hdhomerun stream it just stops for no reason.
I also have this card on the way http://www.tbsdtv.com/products…quad-tuner-pcie-card.html. So I want something that does not need me to reboot the server at least twice a day.
As for tvheadend best to wait for upgrade to wheezy as squeeze will be a problem due to some libs. A gui plugin would be the best.
If only hauppage would release linux drivers for hdpvr-2. Its a cheap capture box that works really well buts its windows only.
We should start a new thread on this.

For me openvpn is not needed because I am running behind a pfsense router/firewall. What about tvheadend. I would really like to get away from media portal as its always crashing. I have to reboot the windows server at least twice a day when I'm watching live TV. Also a vote for hdhomerun drivers and CLI config. Maybe miller can add it in his script.
