    The rest if fine. I am able to login in the web interface.

    As soon as I login, I get this:

    Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; dpkg-query -W -f='${Version}' openmediavault 2>&1' with exit code '2': dpkg-query: erro: a interpretar o ficheiro '/var/lib/dpkg/status' perto da linha 22428 pacote 'libfreerdp-codec1.1:amd64': campo 'Depends', referência a 'libwinpr-registry0.1': versão contém ' '

    Some of it is in Portuguese.

    The system still usable as normal apart from that. Going to run apt-get update and upgrade, or should I wait to solvethis new error?

    The USB stick is Brand New sandisk. 16gb.

    omv-aptclean gives me this:

    Just managed to move my install to a usb stick, as it was on an ssd. I had to fiddle a little with the partitions but now it is done. BUT...

    I think that now the ram might be an issue. I have only 2gb of ram, and it was working fine on the ssd, but it is very sluggish on the usb stick. am not being able to login on the web interface, it says connection refused or bad gateway.

    I used gnome previously on the system, so I am trying to unninstall it, the ony way I am being able to comunicate with the system is via putty. All the shares are working, user permissions, transmission...

    Su, i ran the apt-get update and I got this errors.

    What should I do?

    PS: I am going to buy more ram tomorrow to see if this fix the issue.
    PS2: I managed to see the login briefly, but as soon as the services startup, it crashes.

    Ideas?

    Hi everyone, at the time I installed OMV, ia had to use an SSD. I just got some very reliable usb sticks, and I wish to use that ssd...
    I wish to know how to migrate without needing to recreate all my shares and users.

    How to do it? I saw some posts that discuss about usb sticks insterad of the actual process. I am pretty new to linux so, be gentle.

    I am trying clonezilla, but I do not know if this will work.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    I am planning to get a dell R701 or a T710 with one h700 raid card. This will be my first server, and I need to know if the power consumption is too hight.
    I'll run omv and some virtual machines to test it. most of the time it will omv only.

    Hi, I am a newborn on the linux world. I am using the OMV4 for a couple of weeks now, to replace my personal windows 7 shares and also using on a rural community here. Well, on my personal Rig, i need to back it up to crashplan. As I am still a windows user for most of my stuff (gaming and lightroom editing). I've been using the "single user trick" to backup up mapped shared folders, but as the number of folders increase, that is not practical and also I need 2 devices on to backup things.

    I've found this docker container here: https://hub.docker.com/r/jrcs/crashplan/

    I've managed to pull it (at least I think so), but I do not know how to actually config it and make it run.

    Can someone help me step by step?

    thanks!

    Everyone does until you fix it. It is a bug in the python package from the Debian repos.

    Since OMV uses nginx, this is your problem. remove the apache packages.

    I've read a lot about editing this and that. Bot I am newbie. I can acces the server using putty and also remote desktop from windows. What should I do?

    Hi, I have OMV 4.1.4, and still got this error after apt-get update:

    Code
    Hit:23 https://dl.bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers/arrakis-docker stretch Release
    Exception ignored in: <function WeakValueDictionary.__init__.<locals>.remove at 0x7f2675ffa730>

    TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable
    Exception ignored in: <function WeakValueDictionary.__init__.<locals>.remove at 0x7f2675ffa730>
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "/usr/lib/python3.5/weakref.py", line 117, in remove
    TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable

    Shouldn't it be fixed? Or do I need to manually edit the line?

    I have just upgrade OMV and I am having the same error. Also, the webgui is toasted. I use debian 9 stretch. I've tried the "reinstall"commmand and no luck. All the shares are working, thank god, but the webgui is not. Is this something related to Debian?
    prior to the update, everything was working fine. Now when I try to open the server from the browser, all I get is an "apache" page.

    How can I give you more info to get help?

    Update:
    I've changed the ACL to block one user to not be able to access the share. He got blocked successfully. BUT the user that is supposed to be able to access the file got blocked as well.

    Managed to get it working but with caveats. Only Linux connections are working. I cannot switch from one share to other. example: User peter (admin) connected to the server. Then I tried to access the folder owned by user Ana. I get blocked. Windows asks me to change credentials. I did so, using Ana's passowrd. No access. Maybe it is a windows related issue?

    Good morning,
    I am new to OMV. I've read the forum over and over and wathched some videos linked in the top of this sections. Tried everything there and no luck so, I am now creating the topic because of the impossibility of a solution.

    I have the OMV being deployed to a Rural community here in Brazil, in a server I've put together with donations. It is a quad core due from 2008, 6gb of ram and 1 4tb HD. The place does not have internet, so I'm going to put videos about history, portuguese, english and other stuff to help the educational o centre there. Then I'll need some share folders with passwords, to allow the users to save some of their own files, specially to backup the clients, as many of the pcs have different configs, I want to be able to reinstall them onsite (I am doing this as a volunteer job).

    Software:
    OMV-4 latest installed over debian latest. All up-to date.

    The steps so far:
    01) I need to create a simple share for the media content, where all the videos will be available;
    Got it. I did this: Created the Share and in samba I've set it like this:
    Enabled the Share;
    Public: guests allowed;
    Browseable;
    Honor ACLs;
    Permissions inheritance;
    Worked? YES!

    02) I need to create some private folders for specific users;
    Name: teste
    Permissions: Administrator read/write; user: read/write; other: no access;
    Did it like this:
    Enabled the share;
    Public: no;
    Browseable;
    Honor ACLs;
    Permissons inheritance;

    03) I need to create users (teachers, etc) to be able to allow some private storege with password protection;
    Created 2 users. Mine for start, peter.
    Created it with default, and password.

    04) Now I set the permissions on the user specific folder.
    Selected the user. Then privilegies. Selected the folder assigned to the user. Set it read/write.
    Apllied the settings.

    06) tried to acces the share. No luck.
    It asks the password for the share. I Type it and got an error. The message says: "sharename" is not eccsible. Maybe you do not have permissions to user this... contact administrator...

    Any ideas?

    I am very newbie in linux, I use ubuntu/debian and my level of proficiency is on the apt-get update/upgrade/dist-upgrade level.

    Please be gentle.

    I've followed this guide. http://rickgouin.com/how-to-in…lan-on-your-headless-nas/

    "First, connect to your NAS / Remote / Headless machine. You’ll probably want to do this via SSH. If you are on Windows, I recommend using putty.
    Second, Download Crashplan onto your NAS from inside your SSH session, by typing these commands into your session. Note the location provided below will get you the latest version for Linux as of 12/19/2016. You may want to head to their website to find what the latest version is and adjust accordingly:

    This will run an install script that will ask you a bunch of questions, such as install locations. You can generally accept the defaults on ALL of them. At this point, the CrashPlan engine is running on your NAS, but there are no backup selections. There also isn’t an account configured, or any other settings in place. Now we need to get this thing setup properly."

    I installed the xfce plugin. Then I used windows remote desktop to connect to the device. When the install ended, the crashplan app updated itsel. Now, it shows this error:

    "Failed to execute command "/usr/local/crashplan/electron/crashplan (no such file or directory)".

    The app have worked for a while, even backing up some test files and been shown on my crashplan on my windows machine.

    I do not know what to do.

    Hi everyone. I Hava a crashplan family subscription. I will upgrade to business version. I have installed the xfce plugin to do it with gui. I need crashplan because of my history of files. (date back 2014).

    Ideas?
