all done and went ok
One thing... do i also install "Install kernel header" after i i installed backport kernel? On a side note... I mentioned that i had 3 clean installs, and all of that Im getting "No interface Available" on the first boot right after the install.
I had to "omv-firstaid to configure it.. Normal? This never happened on the previous images of OMV -
now i see where the issue is. its not actually stuck, its just way tooooo slow.
33% [3 linux-image-3.16.0-0.bpo.4-amd64 1579 kB/33.6 MB 5%] 10.6 kB/s 1h 2min 57s
Il update this when its done.
Thanks -
I have the 1.9 image of OMV and after install, i updated to 1.12 without problems.

Did you change the hostname from the command line? It should only be changed from within the web-gui and should not contain a FQDN (Domain name).
FQDN was indeed my issue. Thanks for your input -
not changing it in CLI, only in webgui

after reading your post above and unchecking read/write in under the "user" account, ownCloud works! Im not sure on why there was a check in there though. but nevertheless, it is now working.
Thanks for the help and my apologies what ever causes the confusion. -
