    Ok, thanks for your awnser.

    That with the different pools sounds like a practicable way for me.

    But for this I think the best plugin would be Merger FS.

    Can someone tell me how the paths have to be structured that have to be entered there for each pool

    e.g. /srv/dev...xxx..xxx..disk1/mediastorage/pictures ???

  • Data Pooling with MergerFS

    Hello everyone.

    After I didn't get any answers in German, I'll try my luck again in English ... :)


    During my new installation I tried the two plugins Union FS and Merger FS.

    Unfortunately, I am not getting the result I wanted.

    For each of my main directories I would like to specify whether the data is distributed over several disks or specifically stored on one disk.

    Disk 1

    /Medienspeicher/Bilder/2020 -> All Pictures of 2020

    Disk 2

    /Medienspeicher/Bilder/2021

    Disk 3

    /Medienspeicher/Bilder/2019

    E.g. Photo folders can be distributed, but the whole Photos / 2020 folder.


    Music or documents could be placed discreetly on a disk.

    I want to user the spin down feature on the disks,

    therefore sensible data storage is important.


    With UnionFS I couldn't do that, with Merger FS I don't know what to enter in the path.

    Ok, I`ll try it with more details.


    In addition to an SSD Drive for the OMV System, i have four HDDs in operation for Data Storage.


    /dev/sda 500 GB (Data)
    /dev/sdb 2 TB (Data)
    /dev/sdc 2 TB (Data


    /dev/sdd 120 GB (OMV System)
    /dev sde 4 TB ( Parrity)


    I integrated the Data Drives as EXT4 file System and pooled them via the Plugin UnionFS



    I have created a File Share for the Pool


    As well as an SMB release created



    After I mounted the pool in Windows, I have created various folders on it and filled them in various copying processes with data.But it was always the same hard drive described ...Not as in the policy with the most free memory.


    Directorys existing only on the Pool, not on each Drive!

    I have installed a new omv system with 3 data disks, the snap raid plugin and for pooling unionFS with the policy ep MfS, but I mean this policy does not work correctly.


    All content data where stored on one disk in my pool, in my case on sdc with 1,7 Tb free space. Actually the sdb drive has 2 Tb free space.???


    Each copy job to the data disks are controlled by the policy?

  • Plugin UnionFS

    Hallo Zusammen,


    nach langer Zeit habe ich mich endlich entschieden OMV produktiv einzusetzen.
    Habe aktuell die V4 installiert und möchte meine 3 Daten Platten (2TB Seagate) gerne zu einem Pool zusammenfassen.
    Hier bietet sich ja das Plugin UnionFS an. Das ganze dann noch in eine SNAPRaid Konfiguration mit einer 4TB Parity Platte.


    Beim UnionFS kann man ja auswählen wie die Daten gespeichert werden sollen. Was ist hier der beste Ansatz. Erst immer einer Platte voll machen und dann
    auf die andere schreiben oder alle drei Platten abwechselnd beschreiben lassen?


    Gibt es hierzu eine Empfehlung?

  • Snapraid - Parity Laufwerk vollgelaufen?

    Hallo Zusammen,


    ich habe testweise auf meinem OMV 0.5 einen Greyhole Pool mit Snapraid installiert.
    Funktioniert soweit wie es soll, allerdings ist mein Parity Laufwerk vollgelaufen.


    Folgende Konfig. ist im Einsatz (Die Festplatten sind so klein da es sich um eine Testinstallation handelt)


    HD 1 Systemplatte 8GB


    HD2 - Datenvolume 4GB
    HD3 - Datenvolume 4GB
    HD4 - Datenvolume 4GB
    HD5 - Datenvolume 2GB
    HD5 - Parity Volume 4GB


    Das Parity Volume ist also genauso groß wie die größte Datenplatte.


    HD2, HD3, HD4, HD5 wurden als Data und Content Laufwerke hinzugefügt.



    Fotos werden mit Greyhole mit 3 Kopien vorgehalten
    Alle anderen Dateien ohne Duplikat


    Nachdem ich nun Testweise ca. 2GB Fotos auf eine der Datenplatten kopiert habe, wurden diese auch auf die anderen Datenträger
    dupliziert.
    Ein erster Sync mit Snapraid hatte problemlos funktioniert.
    Allerdings ist das Paritylaufwerk dabei mit ca. 4 GB vollgelaufen.


    Die Statusabfrage gibt an das ca. 11 GB Parity Speicher benötigt werden...
    Wie kann das sein?

    How can i synchronise the Home Folders in OMV an OwnCloud.


    My Data Structure:


    OMV - /media/UID*****/data/datapool/matthias
    OC - /media/UID*****/data/matthias/files


    I want sync. bothways from the Home Folder in OMV <-> OC !


    Can anyone help me?!

  • Webbasierter Fileexplorer

    OwnCloud lässt sich über das Script spielend leicht integrieren.
    Komm allerdings mit den Verzeichnisfreigaben nicht mehr weiter.


    Habe wie im Thread beschrieben einen Symlink von /var/www/data - nach meinen /media/UID*****/ Ordner angelegt.
    Allerdings sehe ich in Own Cloud nichts davon.


    Da Owncloud ja ein eigenes User Verzeichnis benutzt....


    Hat jemand nen Tip

    vielen Dank für Deine Antwort.
    Nachdem OwnCloud mit dem Install Script scheinbar gut funktioniert
    werde ich das mal genauer antesten.
    Wobei sich ja die Sache mit den verschiedenen Repositorys die irgendwo im Filesystem
    liegen können bei Ajaxplorer auch nicht verkehrt anhört.

    Hallo Zusammen,


    versuchs mal in Deutsch, da ich mich da besser ausdrücken kann...
    Hätte ein paar Fragen zur Integration eines webbasierenden Fileexplorers für meine
    freigegebenen Netzwerk Ordner.
    Im Prinzip geht es mir um den webbasierten Zugriff von Ipad oder Android Phone oder von extern.


    Habe mir überlegt das ganze mit OwnCloud oder Ajaxplorer zu versuchen.
    Kann mir jemand ne Aussage geben welches Tool sich besser in Open Media Vault integrieren lässt?
    Oder besser gesagt - sich besser anbinden lässt?


    Ein fertiges PlugIn habe ich für die aktuelle Version 4.0.36
    nicht gefunden. Wobei es lt. Forum hier bereits mal Ansätze zu beiden Produkten gegeben haben muss.


    Habs gestern mal mit der Integration von Ajaxplorer über das Website Plugin versucht.
    Allerdings scheint hier einiges nicht zu funktionieren was ich auf fehlende PHP Module
    zurückführe.


    Wie würdet Ihr sowas integrieren?


    Als eigenes Debian Paket installieren und parallel zu OMV betreiben mit Zugriff auf die Freigegebenen Ordner?


    Allerdings könnte ich mir vorstellen das es mit den Zugriffsrechten etwas tricky sein könnte!


    Freue mich über evtl. Erfahrungsberichte oder Lösungsansätze jeglicher Art!

  • Datensicherheit - frei skalierbar?

    Hallo Zusammen,
    vorab - ich schreibe mal in Deutsch um meine Frage bestmöglich zu formulieren.
    Vielleicht kann mir hierzu jemand ja eine Antwort liefern...


    Ich bin auf der suche nach einer NAS Speicherlösung auf Linuxbasis und stoße im Netz immer öfter auf
    OMV!


    Allerdings suche ich eine Lösung die mir Datensicherheit eines RAID 5 Verbundes liefert aber auch mit
    Xbeliebigen Platten erweiterbar ist... Also so in Richtung Greyhole!!!


    Nutze derzeit Stablebit mit dem WHS 2011.
    Allerding möchte ich aus Performancegründen endlich weg davon und bin eben auf der suche nache einer Linuxbasierenden Lösung.


    Was kann hier OMV in dieser Richtung bzw. was kann man zutun an 3rdparty Software um eine relativ Ausfallsichere und frei skalierbare
    Lösung zu erhalten...?
