that actually helped. i removed the magnet and it no longer goes to sleep. I'm currently trying to figure out how to shut the screen off with out putting the laptop to sleep

how does one access /etc/systemd/logind.conf? i have my setup on an asus laptop and would like to close my lid so i'm able to put it on a shelf without having to see the screen lighting up the room.
I did a search but was not able to find anything i could properly understand. thanks in advance
