    Hi
    Thanks for first information. Sorry for missing system information, I added them in my signature :)
    Most important to say is, that I'm using mergerFS over three HDDs.

    Today I made another test

    - I created a samba share for a single HDD and tried to create/delete a file on this share with my android - Working without problems

    - Tried again with the mergerFS sambashare - create/delete a file - Panic/Segfault in samba

    Is there a possibility to active debug logging for both services?

    Do not look at the Debian package version number. The packaging team is backporting worthwhile patches and fixes from the latest version.

    To reinstall use apt-get install --reinstall samba

    Hi all

    I've the same error (Panic or segfault in Samba) if I try to delete files with my android phone (FX File Commander) on my OMV Nas. Creating files is no problem. I'm using the same account like my windows pc which has no problems.

    I'd try to execute apt-get install --reinstall samba, but the same version was installed (Entpacken von samba (2:4.17.12+dfsg-0+deb12u1) über (2:4.17.12+dfsg-0+deb12u1) ...)

    Is there another way to update Samba on OMV 7.7.4-1?

    Thanks in advance

    I am also in the process of setting up 1-2 VMs, which I would also like to reach from my local network.

    At the moment the basic configuration only works so far that I can reach my network and the internet only from the VM.

    I tried with the network settings in Cockpit, but I couldn't get it to work.

    If I have understood the summarized correctly, then I must first create a bridge in OMV or the system, which is coupled on the one hand with my network adapter and where I then connect to Cockpit?

    But how do I create this?

    In OMV I can not set or create a bridge with the network adapter. Here I only see the VETH of my Docker containers.

    Would be great if someone could write this together again, what all is necessary :)

    Hi there,

    due an required update of OMV4 I installed OMV5 yesterday which seems to work pretty good.

    But I can't get my symlinks over two smb shares to work.

    In my mind I did all steps from OMV 4but with Windows Explorer I always get an access error.

    I inserted following entries into /etc/default/openmediavault and restarted the service

    Code
    OMV_SAMBA_SHARE_FOLLOWSYMLINKS="yes"
    OMV_SAMBA_UNIXEXTENSIONS="yes"
    OMV_SAMBA_WIDELINKS="yes"

    My smb.conf looks like

    Is there something more required in OMV5 to get this to work?
    I know, that this is a possible security issue, but I use OMV only for myself in my local network.

    Thanks for your help,

    DerDominik

    Hello,

    first I have to say that I am very satisfied with openmediavault. Runs absolutely great!

    However, I just have a little problem with the shared folders, especially when adding and deleting them.
    As soon as I change something and confirm the change, I get at first the error message:

    Code
    Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; systemctl restart 'sharedfolders-omv\x2dbackup.mount' 2>&1' with exit code '1': Assertion failed on job for sharedfolders-omv\x2dbackup.mount.

    The detailed error message is:

    Does anyone know the problem and how I can fix it?
    OMV version -> 4.1.27-1 (Arrakis)
    Kernel version -> 4.19.0-0bpo.5-amd64

    Many thanks in advance :)

    Hi there,

    I'm using OMV for a long time and I'm absolutely satisfied with it.
    But at the moment I've sometimes problems with jDownloader. Everything seems to be configured good, but sometimes it isn't working anymore.
    Restart via WebUI is not working, so I was looking to the jDownloader directory on the server and...
    jDownloader.jar has 0 bytes or soemtimes it is deleted.
    OK, I re-uploaded the .jar file from my local install, and it is working for some days.

    But it seems, after a self update, the .jar crashes/deletes itself ?(

    Maybe someone has a hint, how to fix it?
    Maybe rights on the files/directories? At the moment all is set to jdownloader:users

    I don't know, if it is important, but I'm using OMV-4.1.19-1

    Thanks for your help :)
