  • Increase Software RAID5 write speed

    Im' on the newest OMV, I checked via cat /sys/block/md0/md/stripe_cache_size , output : 513


    I have 4Go RAM, I'm on reshape, free 3,7 Go.


    What should I do ? How should I tune my RAID6 ?

  • HELP : shutdown in middle of expand/reshape a raid6

    Hi, I aded a disk for my red6.


    I clicked expand, running shape at 10%


    then someone pushed the power button : shutdown


    Now after firts restart, hangs on irq6 error


    I did a reset :omv web console : my raid 6 array seems dead :(


    Proper restart via GUI, hangs on boot


    Help me please

    I don't know if I may have found a problem with the ISO image.


    Wondering if I could have typed my password with a qwerty keyboard, then tried to type one with an azerty keyboard. Not so diffcult, unless you get special characters...

    Hi,


    I can't enter as root on my new (re)installed OMV 1.9.


    All box checked (but compression) in ssh. Tried with putty and directly on my NAS with a keyboard.


    Can't enter with admin as well (without root box checked).


    thing is, I wonder if it could be because of my root password, I neter some digit whiith numpad, but maybe without numlock, don't remember.... (yes.. I know .... :S )

    No strange driver ? No CLI update, upgrade, install deb or debian driver... ? (not that I could be such a noob :! )

  • PCIe to SATA

    Hi,


    I saw some posts about PCIe cards to SATA. Just want to know if they're good, and if it fits my hardware.


    I would like to add one or two hard drives (90% used space) but all my 6 SATA are occupied. 8 SATA (or more) mobos are very expensive or nowhere to find.

    I know a forum is not the place to tell you're happy... :!


    But I'm definitively with OMV, and glad that I could donate a year ago or so... I would like to donate more this year, but I'll have to see if I can affort it


    Hope OMV can be implanted in some hardware this year too...

    Tell me if I did something wrong :
    1. Tried to upgrade via CLI, stucked on apt-get update.
    2. New and fresh install error with USB on partition tool
    3. Burned a dvd (plenty of them unused here :/), and started install. (Wonder if this is a fresh install, because :
    4. Right after first reboot, pluged all my sata in : everything's ok, Volume, Raid 6, ext4 (just had to click mount)
    5. Some difficulties to install PLex, and running it : but database was there.
