Okay, I just rebooted and tried again and it works. I dunno but I've tried about ten times getting an error and now it works when I ask about it on the forum.
When I try to backup LUKS headers from the GUI I always get and error when the browser is downloading it to the designated folder on my PC. I've tried with Chrome and Edge.
PS ...I'm also running on an Odroid HC2, it's very cool.
I just found the reason and was just about to update this.
It was a remote mount on another server that was offline....thanks though.
Clicking on "File Systems" just got into an inescapable loop popping up that error all the time. The remote mount is back online now and all is fine again.
Had my OMV running great for about a year but tonight when I click on "File Systems" I get the following
Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; df -PT '/srv/7eaf76df-7067-4f8f-bb60-062ca10c74be' 2>&1' with exit code '1': df: /srv/7eaf76df-7067-4f8f-bb60-062ca10c74be: No such file or directory
If anyone could give me an idea as to what is going on it would be appreciated, thanks
Maybe it has to do with this
Also you shouldn’t be using sharedfolders path for services.
This looks very similar, my sharedfolders were not populated so that stumped Syncthing. I'm using srv now and everything is working fine. I have noticed now the the sharedfolders area populated again but I don't know why as I never done anything further. I guess there is no 100% guarantee that the sharedfolders will always be populated so that's why the advice is to use srv for services. Thanks for the response.
So everything is working again by pointing Syncthing to the srv path rather than using the sharedfolders path. I still don't know why, all of a sudden, I had to do this other than a recent update breaking sharedfolders.
You have answered your own question /srv is the absolute path so it makes sense to point to there and not /sharedfolders it's something I have always done.
Thanks geaves. I have literally been pulling my hair out with this issue until i read this thread. It was working and now it's not so I'll use the srv path all the time now and save myself future headaches.
Does this also apply to Syncthing? I'm finding that it no longer works with sharedfolders and I have to point it to the srv path instead.
Did you get this resolved?
First I'll explain my setup. I have an Odroid HC2 with a 1TB drive in the SATA slot and a 3TB external drive in the USB slot. I use the 1TB drive for shared folders and this backups to the 3TB with rsync, I use Syncthing to keep the 1TB drive synced with my Windows desktop which also runs Syncthing. I also share the folders on the 1TB with SMB and that all works fine.
My problem is with Syncthing running on my Odroid.
I had everything working great and I had a power outage. When I rebooted my HC2, all the synced folders had "stopped" with the error message "folder marker missing". I looked in the folders on the 1TB drive using SMB from my laptop and all the marker files are there.
The Odroid runs OMV off of an SD card and it seems Syncthing has forgotten that the shared folders are on the 1TB drive and it now is trying to access them from the "sharedfolders" directory on the SD card and of course there is no marker files here. I have tried removing a folder and re-adding it but it again starts using the small SD card and created the folder there and is not seeing that it is actually on the 1TB drive.
SMB works fine and still references the correct 1TB drive where all my files area located.
It's as if Syncthing does not know how to use the blind links?
I've been at this all day and I'm stumped.
UPDATE. If I use the folder paths from SRV then syncthing is working again.
