    Hello guys,

I am currently having some problems with my files regarding permissions. When I copy from my windows through samba some files, some of them are copied as follows:

    http://prntscr.com/r1gygq

But that is not the confif I have in my OMV:

    http://prntscr.com/r1gyqt

So it is very usual, that I need to constantly apply again permissions recursively to the whole shared folder, because they are not correctly inherited.

Any idea why is this happening?

    Kind regards

Thanks a lot for a solution mate :D

    Hello,

It seems the process might have finished, as I am receiving the following output:

    Code
    root@openmediavault:~# btrfs balance status /srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-ST4000DM004-2CV104_ZFN14S10-part1
    No balance found on '/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-ST4000DM004-2CV104_ZFN14S10-part1'

But when I try: btrfs device delete /dev/sdb1 /srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-ST4000DM004-2CV104_ZFN14S10-part1

    It gives me:

    Code
ERROR: error removing device '/dev/sdb1': unable to go below two devices on raid1

    Any idea on why?

    Kind regards

    Hello guys,

Just a bit new working with brtfs, and I am trying to get 1 of my disks that was in RAID1 deleted, and it seems that the balance process got stuck the first time while trying to make the RAID1, and now trying to undo it, it is also getting stuck on here:

    http://prntscr.com/qnr4t0

It has been in that process 24h, and just for 2x4TB drives. I am checking in htop, and I can not see any brtfs process ongoing:

    http://prntscr.com/qnr53v

Is this normal? What do you recommend me to do? Last thing I want is to lose all data, on my main drive, just because of this.

    Please let me know.

    Kind regards

I just built a new omv 5.x dev system and it has three mergerfs pools with nfs and samba shares. I did just upload a new version of the mergerfs backend but I don't think it will fix your problem.

    Thanks for the try.

Apart from that do you have a tip for this:

    http://prntscr.com/qna4ax

I am getting those low spikes when using mergerfs with 4x12TB drives under BTRFS. That occured when reading, but it is worse when writting, and seems to only happen under mergerfs, as if I remove the merge, and try with the disks alone, everything seems to be correct.

    Any idea?

    Kind regards

I'm not having that issue. not sure why the backend would be passed an NFS mount point. So, I don't know what to look for.

I have currently SMB and NFS set up under mergerfs. Don't know if that might be the problem, although I am getting in charge of not making write/delete operations with both protocols at the same time. I used to word like that and didn't have a problem before

And getting this when going into users section:

    Code
    Error #0: OMV\Exception: Couldn't extract an UUID from the provided path '/export/Media'. in /usr/share/php/openmediavault/system/filesystem/backend/mergerfs.inc:87 Stack trace: #0 /usr/share/php/openmediavault/system/filesystem/backend/mergerfs.inc(64): OMV\System\Filesystem\Backend\Mergerfs::extractUuidFromMountPoint('/export/Media') #1 /usr/share/php/openmediavault/system/filesystem/filesystem.inc(904): OMV\System\Filesystem\Backend\Mergerfs->getImpl('1:2:4:3') #2 /usr/share/openmediavault/engined/rpc/sharemgmt.inc(158): OMV\System\Filesystem\Filesystem::getImplByMountPoint('/srv/4197e9dd-b...') #3 [internal function]: Engined\Rpc\ShareMgmt->enumerateSharedFolders(Array, Array) #4 /usr/share/php/openmediavault/rpc/serviceabstract.inc(123): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #5 /usr/share/php/openmediavault/rpc/rpc.inc(86): OMV\Rpc\ServiceAbstract->callMethod('enumerateShared...', Array, Array) #6 /usr/sbin/omv-engined(537): OMV\Rpc\Rpc::call('ShareMgmt', 'enumerateShared...', Array, Array, 1) #7 {main}

    Hello guys,

Does anyone know why am I receiving this error when trying to change permissions of a shared folder

    Hello guys,

I need to add disk to create RAID1, I see in BRTFS documentation de following steps:

    Code
    mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt
    btrfs device add /dev/sdc1 /mnt
    btrfs balance start -dconvert=raid1 -mconvert=raid1 /mnt

But is it exactly in /mnt where I need to mount it? Or where is exactly mounted my actual disk? So that I can correct those commands.

    Kind regards

The samba protocol as a lot of overhead. It will use cpu. Was the freenas system running a different version of samba? Were the systems connecting via the smb version?

Pff, I didn't check about smb version, as I was on a rush, will try tomorrow, though don't know if I will be able to. The only thing to notice also, is that smb was not running that much high out of proxmox, than inside.

Have you done similar checks before? Is that happening also for you?
