Hi, so I have got my NAS up and running with hared files showing and all. However I want to give users usernames and passwords in order to access the NAS. Their username will dictate what they can view. I tryed creating users in the Access Rights Managment tab but this does not seem to corilate to the Samba file share (see images). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: NAS is repaired attempting to instal omv if i have issues ill be sure to let you all know!
Thanks all ill post an update when i have got the nas running!
Would love to but my NAS just died
Ordered spare parts be here 2 JAn
No as in it goes to the install image for omv but during the instilation it asks for the CDROM
I tried to install it. These are my exact steps.
I took a 4gb usb and wiped it using windows built in utility.
Then i flashed the iso image to the usb using balena etcher.
I went to install omv and it kept asking for a CDROM which i dont have.
Whet should i do?
HI so i'm building my own NAS to store movies, CCTV footage and documents. Bit of background i'm a 15 year old who loves to tinker with tech and my parents have a NAS but I was told that i was not allowed to use it so i took to building my own. For christmas one of my relatives gave me a bunch of drives so that this project could go ahead.
My Build Consists of:
Intel DG45FC MINI-ITX Motherboard
Either a Core 2 Duo E7500 or a Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q8300
4GB DDR2 SDRAM
3 x 6TB HDD (for mass storage)
1 x 200GB SSD (for the boot drive)
CoolerMaster RS-500-PCAP-I3 ATX PSU 500W
Cooler Master Elite 110A ITX Case
I am running into some issues with creating an instilation and i was wondering if there was somewhere I could find a version of OMV for intel proccessors.
