Ah, very interesting. I have been reading /watching a lot of resources about small mini PCs and stuff and saw suggested to go with the lightest linux distro, so many suggested 32bit version of this or that. I am glad this specific device does support 64 bit though so I don't have to bother too much. There is really a lot of different thin clients out there and it might be that some lower spec /older ones might not support 64 bit.

Got it. I will prep a USB stick.Actually I have been gathering a few ISO to buildt a multi iso flash drive. From what I have gathered the software "multibootusb 9.2.0" looks like a good pick for the task. I am planning on using OMV, Debian, PartedMagic and clonezilla. I am running out of flash drives and having all of this in one USB stick would result in being usefull for me. Since OMV is based on debian (debian 10 right?) in case this utility doesn't recognize the distro, can I just input the settings as it was debian?

Even tough I still have to wait a few days before I get my devices, I was taking a look at the OS options for these. Some friends suggested me a 32bit Debian installation but I am still debating about it. I guess I will do multiple tests. I was looking at the download option for OMV. I see an iso image called "openmediavault_5.3.9-amd64.iso" which looks like the last release available. Is that right? Is it an only 64 bit version of the distribution? Am I missing something?

Mhmhmhmhmhmh ok. I have checked online and I only seem to find 30cm or 50cm ones. (talking about 7+15pins cables). I will keep looking and eventually try the 30 cm one. Not sure if I might find a local electronic store/lab willing to create a custom one strating from a longer one.

No worries. May I ask you how long was the sata cable you used in your device? I see online there are different lenths available. I also understand I could wrap it up to some extent to make it fit but I am probably buying something just for this project so I would not mind getting just the right size for this. Any suggestions on this matter?

Thank you very much for coming back at my post after such a long time from the creation of the thread. So can you confirm me that the IDE port on this board is a 40 pin one? I was reading here ( https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t510/ ) a claim it is a 44 pins. That is why I started looking for 44 pins IDE adapters.

As far as the flat vs degree format I kind of figure it because of the shape of the machine. flat ones are really more common (probably because they get some use in old laptops with IDE interface).

Even though this thread is a bit old, I am about to set up a similar machine. I was wondering about the IDE-CF adapter as I found some with the same shape online that were advertized as "they work with amiga" (even one used near my place actually) and I don't know if those would work with a standard PC. I also find this on amazon ( https://www.amazon.it/Kalea-In…&s=merchant-items&sr=1-74 ) . Was wondering if OP still has a link to where he/she bought the CF adapter.
