    Last Update:

OMV + Extras + Docker = 56MB from OMV to client

Proxmox + OMV + Extras + Docker = 96MB from OMV to client

ESXI + OMV + Extras + Docker = 113MB from OMV to client

Don't understand the logic behind it but it works now and ESXI gives me a lot of options to maintain my system. So yea, the issue forced me to upgrade to a better solution that gave me a lot more features.

Whenever I try to get updates, I get this:

I haven't changed anything and i'm running this on a Dell 7050. Updates did work before.

    Hi,

I have installed OMV on a 3.0 USB stick and after awhile copying data from a SMB share or FTP, the speed from the NAS to the client slows down to 57MBytes. Copying data between the SSD's on the NAS is in the GBytes and copying from the client to OMV reaches the expected 113MBytes. But for some reason I cant go beyond the 50% of the expected 113MB when copying to the OMV.

    I have tried the following:

    - Tried different LAN cable

    - Reinstalling OMV will fix the issue for 3-4 hours.

    - Tried a totally different USB stick, different 7050 desktop and SSD, same result

    - No LAN issues. Internet speed at max

    - I am moving from a RPi4 to the Dell 7050. The RPi4 had no issues at all

If i'm unable to find a solution, I will be forced to move back to the RPi4 and hope that it can handle two SSD's at the same time.

    Here is my iperf3 results:

    Client (Server) - OMV (Client)

    Client (client) - OMV (Server)

    Hi,

First i want to say that OMV is quite a good NAS solution that saves a lot of money and gives a lot of customization.

I tried to search the web for an simple answer to my question but wasn't successful. I think the answer should be simple but the ones I found where unnecessarily complicated.

    My setup:

RPI4: OMV on SD card - Data on external Black SSD with actual data. The data does have access rights configured.

Mini desktop: OMV on USB stick - Data will be on external Red SSD. SSD is completely empty.

If possible, I want to just unplug the Black SSD and connect it to the mini desktop. But expect of course that the access rights will cause issue. Will the plugin openmediavault-resetperms 5.0 help me out with this?

    -Or-

Recreate the groups and users with the correct UID and GID in the mini desktop and then connect the Black SSD?

    Thank you in advance.
