Actually I have had some disconnects with the drives.
My home server uses a pair of 1tb USB external Seagate drives.
They seem to run with out any problem.
The info I send you above is from a Unitek adaptor that seems to be reliable,
I got them from MCM Electronics before they combined with Newark.
Hope this was of some help.

Just saw the request for the type of adapters, I will try to get that in the next few days, if not it will be some time after I get back from vacation.
Sorry I have not seen this thread sooner.Rich Prim

I did all the updates except the reg edits.
Now the computer seems to reliably connect to the network drives. Thanks so much for the info, it was not a big problem at home but when you spend someone else's money to build a machine and it doesn't work.
Well you look like you don't know what you are doing.I am sure many people appreciate the help we get from the more experienced guys on this Forum.

I should have said thank you all for the excellent help.

Yes I saw those changes and will do them when I get over there, I can actually try it at home and see how it works.
Thank you so much Rich Prim -
Yes I am using OMV 3 latest update (99).
And all the computers are now windows 10.Rich

Wow that's a lot of stuff to do, not sure I want to mess with that on someone else's computer.
I did by accident find that if I " Added a network location" this allowed me to get access to the server.
Its a bit easier and less chance to screw something up.
Thanks for the help, Windows 10 sure makes life difficult.Rich Prim

Gentlemen
I built a Raspberrypi 3 file server for my church.
None of the computers seem to show the Raspberrypi file server so I use the static IP address to map the drives.
On on particular computer I get a 0x80070035 fault "the network path was not found.
Network discovery is turned on.
Not sure why this is happening with Windows 10, any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
I did a apt-get update and now I do have the updates.
Also my main drive problem was a 3.5 inch hard drive to USB adaptor.
It had partly slipped out of the hard drive connector and corrupted the main drive.
I was able to rebuild the main drive with my Rsync drive data.
Thank you for the assistance, Rich Prim -
Problem, main drive not accessible,
I have a main drive and a Rsync drive.
I found the main drive not mounted, so I tried to mount it and it said "structure needs cleaning".
How do I "clean the structure".

Usually there are more things listed, my list is blank.
Just found this in the system
cron[1133]:authentication token is no longer valid: new one required

I am running version 3 and it needs SMB1 turned on in windows.

That's a real good idea, thanks.

Just tried it with Filezilla, works like a charm.
Thanks R Prim

Oh by the way, I am using Ubuntu 17.04

Its on the same server, I have 2ea I tb drives plugged into a Raspberrypi (vial a USB hub for power).
You are saying I can use Filezilla (very familiar with) to access by Rsync drive and then copy my files to a new main drive.
I should have thought of that, thank you and i will try this after the holidays.
Thank you Rich Prim
