I tried it from Chrome, Firefox and IE. Also from iPads Safari and iPhones Safari+Mercury Browser. I even tried chromium on my server itself via xrdp/openbox...

    tail -f log...:

a bit more of the log afterwards:

Did you add the repository mentioned in the first post? otherwise you can't find the package.

Also don't forget to add the repository key and to use 'apt-get update' before you try to install it.

i used powertop, but it now hangs at ~138watts, it seems the sata optimization doesn't worked out the way it should ...

Edith: after a reboot he is back to 117watts idle.
    Edith2 says:

As a Switch i would get simply one of these:
    http://geizhals.de/?cat=switchgi&xf=658_managed#xf_top
all seem to be managed switches, starting as low as 50 euros for an 8port switch, 105 euros for 24port hp pro curve or 112 euros for a good 16port TP-Link.

I used a truecrypt encrypted ntfs volume (as a linux share) some time ago, and i can tell that I had no speed issues.

    Quote from "knumsi"

    Nice build!

What is the power consumption of this PC?
How do you wake the OMV NAS up, when you need it?
What kind of Bonding do you use for your NICs?

    - i don't know yet, but i'll check it right away
    - I put my finger on the power button (no kidding, it stands right under my desktop/tv - last time i checked WOL didn't work, i have to look deeper for this wakeup-method)
    - i don't use it yet, but i would go after that tutorial: http://louwrentius.com/blog/20…-how-to-get-beyond-1-gbs/

Edith says: i checked the power consumption, it is up to 160watts on boot and then falls down to 113watts. It goes up to 145-150watts on Raid write.

The advantages are that it should be faster (except that ntfs-3g isn't slow anymore) and its a native linux filesystem. I would also throw XFS into the discussion, but meanings differ very hard.

If you really want to use ntfs (i see the advantages for exchanging to windows machines) i would recommend usinggparted or simply put it into a windows machine.
