So here is the setup:
OMV6 with 4x 4TB HDD and 1x 16TB HDD.
Shared paths looks like this NAS_Disk1/DISK1, NAS_Disk2/DISK2, NAS_Disk3/DISK3, NAS_Disk4/DISK4.
DISK1, DISK2, DISK3 and DISK4 are the folders that are accessible on Windows when I map the Path \\OMV6\NAS_Disk*\ where * is 1,2,3,&4.
The path for the 16TB HDD is like this: \\OMV6\16TB01\16TB_1 with 16TB_1 being a mapped folder that contains Folders :DISK1, DISK2, DISK3 and DISK4.
I am trying to figure out how to rsync each of the individual 4TB Drives to the 16TB drive with 4 rsync tasks.
The problem I encounter is that when one rsync task runs it deletes the other 3. Like if I run:
&
DISK2, DISK3, and DISK4 get deleted.
I want rsync to delete any deleted changes from /NAS_Disk1/DISK1 on /16TB_1/DISK1 when it runs, I just don't want it to delete DISK2, DISK3, and DISK4 as well. And I want it to work that way for all 4 DISK files on all 4 Drives going to the 16TB drive.
I feel like I set up the file structures in a way that it would be able to do this with ease, I just dont know the syntax I think.
I tried to experiment with -delete--exclude with very poor luck. OMV6 just decided to not delete anything IO. Which I guess technically is a better alternative than getting all 3 disks deleted and having to run them again with the "Delete" option turned off.
So I hope I explained what I am trying to do correctly and I hope there is a way to do it within OMV and rsync.
Could someone give me a screenshot or exact text for the "Extra Options" line if that is the solution.
Please dont hit me with something like " rsync abcdefg -delete /foo/bar/ foo/* /var/home/bar " nonsense that makes no sense to me.
I dont need a blanket statement example in this setup, I need an exact example text.
There are too few "REAL EXAMPLES" of how to use rsync, and too many "Blanket Examples" in my opinion so please just work with me.
Please just give me the exact text and options selected as I would need them for this to work with one of the Drives/DISKs. I think I can just copy paste from there on the other 3 drive/DISK option setups.
Thanks in advance.

EXT4 is the format. But I think I might have solved the issue. I had to go to the "user" tab and then "Privileges" and give read/write access to the default user. The issue hasn't happened since. My new issue is this.
Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. This connection has not been restored. This isnt happening on my 4TB ironwolf nas drives , only my 16TB Exos drive.

Similar to your issue I get "You do not have permission to access \\RaspberryPi\Folder. Contact your network administrator to request access." It only happens intermittently for me though. I tried the reset permissions thing, but no such luck. I just have to keep restarting the Raspberry Pi and it will work for a while... Then it just all of a sudden wont work. Does anyone else have this intermittent issue and know how to fix it?

It was a video folder. And yes I had downloaded to that file from chrome in the past. but I have since changed my file structure and no longer use that particular path ... like at all. And I dont run any docker containers or anything like that.

Sorry, I dont know exactly what you mean by container settings. Could you tell me where in the Web GUI that would be?

I have a file path on one of my disks that keeps reappearing. It is on Disk 4 of 5 in my NAS setup.
It is something like Y:\2000 - Family\Family Videos\John... The John file is empty also. So it essentially is putting a file path back on the drive but I dont understand why.
There is no rsync coming into this drive from anywhere. And none of my computers have the file pinned in the quick access taskbar or anything.
I delete the file path and sometime later I notice that the file path only has reappeared.
Can someone give me some help on this issue?

So it worked. I just had to disable the Dynamic Onboard LAN Control in the BIOS. Run it with both ethernet connections then use OMV-Fistaid to change the adapter to the 2.5GbE card. Im gettting transfer speeds around 280MB/s. Its great. Cant wait to get my 10GbE cards set up now.

Thank you so very much! I think that might solve my issues. I will test it out this evening.
I still want to run a clean copy of OMV instead of through Hyper V because I lose some functionality on HyperV... like disk temperature monitoring and small things like that.
-
I decided to go another route, I installed windows to go with hyperv. Then installed everything on the virtual machine. This solved the network card issue , plus I have a web browser to monitor OMV if I need to do so. '
Thanks for your help everyone.

For reference the item can be found at "https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-2-5GB-PCIe-Network-TX201/dp/B0BG685PKM"
I am trying to do this on a Chenbro NR12000 1U Server which has a PCIE x16 90 deg. bracket for the PCIE Card.
BUT HERE IS SOME POSSIBLE GOOD NEWS:
I loaded up Ubuntu 22 last night and it recognized the card at 2500Mbps which is great. (It means the card works with Debian/ Ubuntu)
However when I leave the 2.5GbE card installed and boot OMV5 the system runs OMV5 (to an attached monitor and Keyboard/Mouse) but the web GUI never becomes available and the SSH feature never becomes available on the factory 1GbE onboard port OR on the 2.5GbE card and I never get access to my drives. It seems like the card shuts off all network capability.
Do you have any idea why this is or how to fix it?
Note: I think I will likely have to fix it with the card uninstalled, so I will have network connection, if I need to download something. Then reboot with the card installed. I'm NOT SURE though. Just a thought.
If the manufacturer hasn't published linux drivers, maybe you're still lucky and there are linux drivers that can control that card, in which case you should search the linux hardware databases.
To answer your message:
There is also a website with drivers: "https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tg-3468/#Driver"
but they are only for Windows.
I'm guessing that Linux supports this card since it worked with Ubuntu 22.
I just don't know how to get it to work with OMV5.
And how do I search the Linux hardware databases? Sorry I am new to Linux OS.
So with all this said,
Can you please give me some guidance?
I will check to see if there are Linux drivers on the CD that came with the PCIE card, but I am doubtful considering what drivers are on the website.
I might also mention that I am a Linux beginner so using the CLI is somewhat difficult for me, but I am willing to learn.
Thanks in Advance.
PS. Since I am upgrading to a 10GbE card next week, can you explain to me how to figure out which card to buy that will work with my system?
Preferably out of the box, if that is even possible.

Hi guys,
This is my first post on this forum. please forgive me if I do anything incorrectly.
My issue is that I bought a TP-Link PCIE card for 2.5GbE Ethernet and am trying to get it to work.
I have a drivers disk, but no idea where to start. I have an external DVD drive that will probably run the drivers, if only I knew how to install them on OMV.
It might help you to know that I am running OMV 5 but I am willing to update to OMV 6 if that is an issue.
The chipset is TP-Link TG-3468 2.5GbE.
Also, In the next few weeks I will be doing the same thing but with a 10GbE card, likely a Intel X540-T2 card. Any suggestions or warnings would be appreciated.
Thanks
