I'm on an Intel PC installed from the OMV ISO: openmediavault_6.5.0-amd64.iso

I have no idea how to correct this. Thanks for your help!

With other changes.. I got this problem SOLVED. :)

This is a Recent Installation of OMV: .. originally built from openmediavault_6.5.0-amd64.iso

I'm connected via wi/fi on device wlp1s0 and initially used omv-firstaid to setup the network using DHCP and then continues with the workbench.

Some updates were immediately available and these were installed

I converted my IP setting to static using the workbench.

From this point onward, While my local network is still available .. the external internet world is gone. This biggest downside: No access to updates or plug-ins

Weirdly, my two local PCs use a Netmask of 255.255.252.0 Under the workbench, I changed it to match. In another place, It was suggested that I should be using 255.255.255.0 .. so, I changed it back.

I have used he workbench to switch between the "Dynamic" (DHCP) and "Static" configurations many times.

Under Dynamic setup, the outside internet universe is available.. and so are updates and plug-ins .. note: the Netmask in the workbench is 255.255.255.0 and ifconfig reports 255.255.252.0 ... yeah, so the workbench lies because it lets DHCP do it's job. and ifconfig shows reality.

I have looked at t number of Debian network configuration files.. and I don't have a clue on how to fix this.

omv-firstaid no longer sees my wifi device (wlp1s0) .. only enp5s0 (which I am not using) I guess it's a "one shot" tool.

    Places I've looked:

    /etc/network/interfaces

    /etc/resolv.conf

    etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf

    Nothing to see there!

This should be simple, so any suggestions are welcome!
