I have drive errors on one of my 3 data drives. Time to upgrade to 4.x. Can I just attach the other 2 data drives after a fresh install have have the system recognize the file shares on them? Just mount them and be good to go?

its long, so here it goes:

This is what I get when I check for updates. I have no idea what it means?

I don't think I would ever need any more that 2 users. So I'll try OpenVPN.
I read this on another site about setting up openvpn on dd-wrt:

[quoteThe end goal is to be able to browse securely using public wi-fi by creating an encrypted connection from your laptop through your home router. The session should be as secure as your home network. You will not be able to interact with other resources on your home network. For that, you should consider OpenVPN on a NAS box, a remote desktop application such as TeamViewer, or some other encrypted tunnel.][/quote]

What is the difference between the openvpn and the openvpnas plugins?

Also what would be the advantage in using one of the plugins over using openvpn on a router such as one with dd-wrt to access your network?

I was having the same issue so I used the apt clean button like davidh2k said. That worked. I think you may not be seeing the updates via the webinterface because you already updated via putty/shell.

it is working fantastic! what I like about it is there is a lot of options on how you can sort your music. I am now using it combined with Bubble UPNP Server and can access my music from anywhere.

Thanks for the help so far, but I still get this:

WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
debconf: delaying package configuration, since apt-utils is not installed
    Authentication warning overridden.
dpkg: error: PATH is not set

When trying to do an update. dpkg -P bubble* seems to have purged Bubbleserver config files.

I tried that and get this:

root@homeserver:/# apt-get --purge remove bubbleupnpserver_0.9-1_all.deb Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package bubbleupnpserver_0.9-1_all.deb
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'bubbleupnpserver_0.9-1_all.deb'

I think I screwed up more than I know.

Thanks for the help. Got it working. The only problem I had was Chrome won't load the config page. Had to use IExplorer from windows.

Could anyone help me get Asset UPNP server going on OMV? After I install OMV what would I have to do? SSH into terminal some how?

So far I have only tried minidlna. Asset UPNP is able to sort on almost any MP3 tag you wish, for example "Year". You can quickly pick out the latest music in your collection. Also serves up Album cover artwork. I will have to try the other 2 media servers and report back.
