It is the sync repo. It is very slow.
Thanks, I might perform then an update via putty on a fortnightly basis ;-).

Hi guys,
my setup is made of OMV3 running on a thumb drive on a Dell T20.
I made a fresh install, so no upgrade from OMV2.x - if I run apt-get update through the console or the webinterface it seems to be very slow. In comparison, on my other NAS running OMV2.x I do not experience the same issues. I haven't added any additional repos in my OMV3.x build, currently activated are:
- Community builds
- beta packages
for the following repos;
- OMVExtras (S/T)
- Plex
- Greyhole
- Sync
- Mono (+T)
- Docker (+T)
- Jesse BPO
Does anyone know how to fix this or can somebody else confirm the same issue?
Thanks!
No the MAC adress is diffrent. Anyway if u using AMT headleass (without monitor connected to DP or VGA) so u´ll need this adapter:http://www.ebay.de/itm/161265341755
and DV->HDMI adapter
or make a VGA Dummy.
Thanks. How come that it is necessary to fake a monitor to the server?Won't it work otherwise properly?
1. We have only Androids at my home so we use this app.
2. For AMT I use MeshCommander. And yes the IP for AMT and OMV are diffrent.
Thank you!
I will try to make separate IPs for the console and OMV - just not sure how this will work because the MAC will be the same, right?

Thanks, worked fine with me!!
How do you normally make use of WoL with the T20? Which program do you use and do you have/use different IPs for the Intel AMT interface and OMV? I tried so far WoL2 and it seems like this is causing some issues.
Thanks!
With disabled usb 3.0 at the dell t20 the shutdown command is working!Cheers Robert
Please see attached picture
Thanks, just did, will move now the USB thumb drive where I have OMV installed to the other ports and hopefully it will work. Does anyone know why there is the correlation between the WOL and USB 3.0? Are they both on the same bus?
Display MoreT20 WOL Shutdown after reboot Problem is solved.
Deactivate the USB 3.0 Settings in Bios and its working :-).
My actual Bios (Version A05) Settings are:
-NIC on - only LAN
-DeepSleep off
-WOL on - only LAN
i will test the Settings with DeepSleep S4/s5 an with other Bios Versions.
I will send an email to the dell support. But hopefully this can be fixed with a bios update.
Heya nuttah,
I just try to follow your mini guide ;-). Where in the BIOS settings did you deactivate the USB 3.0 settings/support?
Thanks!!
This could be a common bug, related to WOL and nic cards. Is mostly present in realtek cards. Try disabling WOL at BIOS level
I'd like to keep the WOL functionality for my NAS. I guess I will try to work a bit around with the autoshutdown plugin and see if this works and fits my purpose.
Just retried it again via the WebInterface - it seems like it performs just a reboot. Can anyone else confirm that this is a minor bug?
Thanks. I have justinstalled it and tried a couple of times, reboot works perfectly via webgui, but shutdown seems to make still problems. Anything else I should/could try?
Okay, was not aware of this. Is there anything else that would improve after installing the backport kernel?

No, I have not - should I install these?

Hi guys,
In OMV 3.0 apparently it is not working on my setup to shutdown my machine. I am having it installed on a thumb drive and running a Dell T20.
Anything else I could try?
Thank you for taking the time to answer queries in here Spy, this is really appreciated by the community.
I will get a G8 early next year and upgrade my G7 NAS - pretty sure I will use this thread a lot ;-)!

Hi there,
i tried to install OMV on a HP ProLiant SE316M1 - but the installation fails at installing grub - any ideas how i can fix this?
kind regards
chris
I assume this is the known/comming Grub issue - just try it again for a couple of times, debian & grub are typically juggeling the mount points (\dev\sda) around. In order to be able to install OMV/debian on a USB thumb drive you actually have to make sure that it is mounted as \dev\sda - in some cases the installer boots from the installation stick and mounts it as \dev\sda, and want to install on this one then as well....
hope this helps.
Edit: just checked, deleting and readding the share and reapproving the ssl certificate, everything works again. When i created the ssl certificate i took an extra long period of a couple of years, is this a misconfiguration? It seems like the connection is lost because of the ssl certification or do i miss the point?
Thx!
Hello all,
I have recently set up my omv installation and configured all the plugins that inrequire to run. My setup includes currently also an owncloud instance that is accessed by 3 clients.
The weird thing, this is happening now already the third time - after setting up owncloud on omv and confing the clients everything runs wellmformamcouple of weeks, afterwards owncloud loses the connection and it appears like within the client there is no owncloud instance accessible anymore - alhough the nas is running and instill can access owncloud via webinf.
Is this a genereal issue, or did it configure something wrong etc?
Thx for advice!
Sorry, was up in thoughts when texting, therefore did not translate ;-).
Did you try to remove the plugin and just reinstall it after purging the cache? I had the comm failure a couple of times and clean reinstalling the plugins solved this mainly.
