    Hi guys,

my setup is made of OMV3 running on a thumb drive on a Dell T20.

I made a fresh install, so no upgrade from OMV2.x - if I run apt-get update through the console or the webinterface it seems to be very slow. In comparison, on my other NAS running OMV2.x I do not experience the same issues. I haven't added any additional repos in my OMV3.x build, currently activated are:

    - Community builds
    - beta packages

    for the following repos;

    - OMVExtras (S/T)
    - Plex
    - Greyhole
    - Sync
    - Mono (+T)
    - Docker (+T)
    - Jesse BPO

Does anyone know how to fix this or can somebody else confirm the same issue?

    Thanks!

    Yes, that´s correct.

    Code
    nano /etc/default/grub
#look for this line an add it
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet xhci_hcd.quirks=270336"
    #save and update grub
    update-grub

    Thanks, worked fine with me!!

How do you normally make use of WoL with the T20? Which program do you use and do you have/use different IPs for the Intel AMT interface and OMV? I tried so far WoL2 and it seems like this is causing some issues.

    Thanks!

    Heya nuttah,

I just try to follow your mini guide ;-). Where in the BIOS settings did you deactivate the USB 3.0 settings/support?

    Thanks!!

Thank you for taking the time to answer queries in here Spy, this is really appreciated by the community.

I will get a G8 early next year and upgrade my G7 NAS - pretty sure I will use this thread a lot ;-)!

    Hi there,
i tried to install OMV on a HP ProLiant SE316M1 - but the installation fails at installing grub - any ideas how i can fix this?

    kind regards
    chris

I assume this is the known/comming Grub issue - just try it again for a couple of times, debian & grub are typically juggeling the mount points (\dev\sda) around. In order to be able to install OMV/debian on a USB thumb drive you actually have to make sure that it is mounted as \dev\sda - in some cases the installer boots from the installation stick and mounts it as \dev\sda, and want to install on this one then as well....

    hope this helps.

Edit: just checked, deleting and readding the share and reapproving the ssl certificate, everything works again. When i created the ssl certificate i took an extra long period of a couple of years, is this a misconfiguration? It seems like the connection is lost because of the ssl certification or do i miss the point?

    Thx!

    Hello all,

I have recently set up my omv installation and configured all the plugins that inrequire to run. My setup includes currently also an owncloud instance that is accessed by 3 clients.

The weird thing, this is happening now already the third time - after setting up owncloud on omv and confing the clients everything runs wellmformamcouple of weeks, afterwards owncloud loses the connection and it appears like within the client there is no owncloud instance accessible anymore - alhough the nas is running and instill can access owncloud via webinf.

Is this a genereal issue, or did it configure something wrong etc?

    Thx for advice!

Sorry, was up in thoughts when texting, therefore did not translate ;-).

Did you try to remove the plugin and just reinstall it after purging the cache? I had the comm failure a couple of times and clean reinstalling the plugins solved this mainly.
