It's my general backup disk, 20TB, 12 used. Regen is a small piece.

chente I swapped the disk to ex-fat and am getting permission errors. Can you help?

I did another check on the cause of the disk full, it was OMV Backup not OMV Regen.

I have omv regen backing up to an external NTFS drive.

I use NTFS so I can easily read the backup drive from a windows machine.

I accidentally disconnected the power and like an idiot did not check to ensure the drive properly remounted.

When OMV regen ran, the backup destination wasn't mounted, so it started writing the backup to the underlying /srv directory on my boot drive and eventually filled it until the backup failed.

Perhaps omv regen can add a check to ensure the backup drive is mounted before running.

I am on the latest build of both OMV and HA. HA is running supervised on Raspberry PI OS, so no compose file.

For some reason, this has stopped working for me recently.

Does anyone else use this that might be able to help?

I have a 2 port 10gb card that I use as the primary so I can make use of SMB multi channel. The motherboard has a 2.5gb connection which I don't keep plugged (so it doesn't try and join multi channel") but is configured in case the 10gb card fails. therefore wait-online service takes a while to time out on boot hence the "any". I would recommend allowing the option to pick a single interface for the network wait service.

I had this code running and networkd.wait would not wait at boot for unconnected network device.s

It is now waiting. this code is still there.

Not sure the if this change did it or not:

• Set link local addresses for both Ethernet and WiFi network interfaces by default when using DHCP to ensure that the system is reachable even if no other IP address can be obtained.

Solution to slow boot time (systemd-networkd-wait-online.service)

Recently, I took care of my NAS with an upgrade to OMV7 (from 6) and change of the SFP+ PCIe card for a better one. I'm unsure if that's the hardware or software change that caused this issue, but processes took way too much time to start than usual, triggering monitoring alerts.
The issue is rather a Linux/Systemd issue than an OpenMediaVault. However I didn't experience it on a manually installed system with which I swapped the interface on as well (Debian 12), so there might also be something…

Since upgrading to OMV v8 omv-regen backup which I have scheduled every night is throwing errors similar to this one from last night.
