On a test OMV 4.x system with the flashmemory plugin installed, this is all I did to upgrade it to OMV 5.x (as root):
I changed this to a script (no changes but eliminates the cut&paste issues:
wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/installScript/raw/master/upgrade4to5 | sudo bash
apt-get purge openmediavault-omvextrasorg resolvconf
wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/packages/raw/master/install | bash
omv-salt deploy run nginx
Clear your browser cache after upgrading!
I have problem.
After doing that got error.
502 bad gateway instead of GUI.
I had same problem with really slow installation on Gigabyte mobo with J3455.
Does OMV see 4 cores of CPU?
Thanks for replies.
I am not sure, it was probably bad domain name which I typed during setup..
I'm reinstalled OMV and it works
There is something strange in /etc/hosts fileQuote
Why DHCP not work?
I created shared folder. Added it to Samba.
I can connect via SSH and webgui to my openmediavault but cant map share.
Windows 7 can't get access to \\192.168.1.16\ error code 0x80070035
On my old server it worked
OK, my mistake.
When i change settings in BIOS for VGA from UEFI to legacy everything start work fine.
I try install OMV 3.0 x64 on new mobo Gigabyte GA-J3455N-D3H
Installer is on DVD, it starts. Initally there is only prompt on left right corner, next about 6 small screen appear but cant read anything (they are too small).
Monitor (old CRT type) is connected via VGA.
RAID 6 is too big for me Maybe I will use RAID 5 + one external drive for backup
Thanks for good ideas, mobo with built CPU looks good for simple NAS.
Better save a little on mobo, and gain money for new HDDs.
I am not sure if pendrive will be better than SSD.
OS disk will be Intel SSD 40 GB which I have from old setup.
Data drives will be 2TB Seagate for servers and some WD 750GB. Later plan to add more 2 TB drive.
HP ProLiant looks nice, but spare parts not easy to get, and I have PSU already
Gigabyte GA-N3150N-D3V look very nice, only downside is 4 port SATA. Maybe some expansion card for additional SATA?
I am planing build new NAS for samba share main purpose.
It will have 4 HDD for storage, and SSD for system.
Will mobo MSI B250M PRO-VDH https://www.msi.com/Motherboar…ml#productFeature-section work OK?
What CPU, Intel G3900?
8GB RAM will be sufficent?
Do You know how many power it consume?
SSD is on PCI-Express not M.2?
Thank You, good man.
I didn't know how get this package to omv. But I use apt get and it worked.
I wanna plug Xerox Phaser 3010 printer to Open Media Vault Server
It finds printer, but on list there isn't my model.
Can I add drivers for my model?
When I choose Xerox Phaser 3110 Foomatic/gdi instead, I can print from my main comp (windows 7), but cant print from OMV server.
