Thanks a bunch to the team - I assume I managed to setup the Docker CE repo successfully and installed 3.1.0. For now running Plex and Plexpy smoothly and - as cream on top - Portainer seems to work also for convenient container administration.
This really starts to make fun
Sure - this should do the job. Didn't think about WOL.
Pretty much the set-up I use for now:
OMV 3 on HP Microserver Gen8 backs up via rsync every day at 9.00pm to a Synology DS 214. From OMV point of view scheduling with backup once per month is no deal, but telling the Synology to start up once a month only could be harder.
You'll have to enable rsync on the Synology (which is done by a wizard and easy to do) and then add rsync jobs (push) to your
needs in OMV. Can be done passwd protected on same network and therefore also doable for beginners (I succeeded, too).
This will copy resp. sync the complete data once but then only changed / added folders and files. You can have a 1:1 copy of
your OMV data or (better) keep also files no longer available in OMV. Up to you.
First off all: openmediavault-plexmediaserver 3.8.1 plugin is running very well. No issues, only a question out of curiosity:
when I do a "apt-get update" in the CLI I get an info as follows:
"W: Konflikt bei Distribution: https://downloads.plex.tv public InRelease (public erwartet, aber bekommen)"
@ryecoaaron could you please explain what happens?
Thank you very much in advance.
Did a complete fresh Installation of OMV due to another reason and installed openmediavault-plexmediaserver plugin as usual.
Worked like a charm....
mine was a fresh install of OMV after wiping the drive.
sorry - didn't get that correctly.
Then I should wait with a fresh install ...
or alternatively I should go back to use docker.
After having tried plexmediaserver in docker I wanted to return to standard plugin installation in OMV 3.
There is an issue already during the re-installation process resulting in a.m. error. As it seems, only re-installation is affected
(i had removed plexmediaserver before my docker try via UI). Perhaps there is an issue in the de-installation that prevents a proper
Thank you very much, ryecoaaron. 3.0.16 works like a charm for me.
Same for me - but I second Flaschie's statement: everything working and nothing critical
3.0.74 is available
Is there an ETA for OMV 3.0.74 and openmediavault-zfs 3.0.15? Not meant to push - just wondering.
And another question is: If I know a stable combination of OMV version and plugins how is it possible to install exactly that versions later again e.g. after a system crash? I think that must be done by CLI but neither I am familiar with debian package handling and repositories nor I know were to download earlier versions of OMV or the plugins. Does anybody has some information about that or a link for me?
Thanks in advance.
ZFS plugin works well with OMV 3.0.69 for the time being:
Just execute the following three commands and you should be fine:
dpkg -i openmediavault_3.0.69_all.deb
systemctl restart openmediavault-engined.service
As OMV3 is still beta I can follow ryecoaaron in above discussion, still having similar feelings as Wetter.
I've seen on Mantis BT that votdev stated this issue as solved with OMV 3.0.71 (3.0.72 is already available) and an adapted
ryecoaaron: Out of curiosity: is the root-cause identified and can we expect an ZFS plugin update not too far in the future?
Anyway - great platform and I really appreciate the work of you guys.
Sorry - I use rsync with password, not ssh in a local network. Therefore no experience with ssh.
For me rsync works well as follows:
with openmediavault-netatalk 3.2.2 plugin installed in OMV 3.0.40, Apple Time Machine is working perfectly
again! Cool that this issue is also finally solved in OMV3.
Thank you very much @votdev and the team!!!!
The omv-extras.org site, demo, and repos for OMV 0.5, 1.x, and 2.x will be down for a few hours while the server is upgraded.
Hi. I'm running OMV 3.0.32 hassle-free - thanks a bunch to the team.
While fetching the updates via GUI I'll receive "Fehlschlag beim Holen von http://dh2k.omv-extras.org/deb…ain/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found". Seems the outage also affects OMV3 - at least using Plex.
No need to hurry - just fyi.
...and fresh install works again like a charm!
Thank you very much, gents.
Does not help, unfortunately. You could repair the installed plugin, but I'm not even able to install. I can rename
the /etc/default/plexmediaserver.prev but no success.
