Hi,
does anyone know a way to automatically create a zfs filesystem for each users home directory (during user creation) instead of a normal folder?
Hi,
does anyone know a way to automatically create a zfs filesystem for each users home directory (during user creation) instead of a normal folder?
yep, Ive created a Filesystem (ZFS) for each user, enabled the home directorys and also tried to edit the "30homes" in the mkconf folder. After Ive added the lines, mentioned in your How-To, the users cant access their home folder.
EDIT: Sorry, Ive not added the lines from your How-To....
I used lines from here: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/32282/
vfs objects = shadow_copy2
shadow: snapdir = .zfs/snapshot
shadow: sort = desc
shadow: format = AutoH-%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M
Oh... and it is working when I set it for each normal share, but not for the home shares.
Is this method also possible for user homes share? And if not, is there another way?
Hey guys,
I need a little help with smb home directory and zfs snapshots. I want to use the windows shadow_copy but cant get it to work.
Ive added a few lines to the extra options in the smb configuration (Screenshot 1) and added a line in the "30homes" config file of smb (Screenshot 2), but shadow copies dont show up in Windows. Any advise?
Maybe you can add a property to the filesystem: 'acltype' and use 'posixacl'. So you can edit folder acls in omv interface - see the screenshot.
I need a little help too....
I dont want to create a share for every user, I only want to share the 'users' filesystem and also want to use quotas. But, if I share the FS '/Storage/users' with CIFS, and mount for ex. 'user1', with is a filesystem by itself, I only see the quota of '/Storage/users'. Does someone know a solution?
Why should I replacing it? It not another version or fork oft syncthing core. Its like a Plugin for syncthing, that act like a file watcher, so the disks can spin down.
"Syncthing (core) uses a rescan interval to detect changes in folders. This application (syncthing-inotify) uses OS primitives to detect changes as soon as they happen. Therefore, if you save a file, syncthing-inotify will know about it and pass this information to Syncthing such that near real-time synchronisation can be achieved." [1]
The same error occured on my system. Perhaps its because I hadnt upgrading the Kernel before install the plugin!?
From a quick glance, it should work but would be a lot of work. I would say it will have to be pretty low on the priority list.
its a 'nice to have'. So its even nicer, that you put it on the list
Is it possible to implement syncthing-inotify in this plugin?
Ive no idea how to install this one on openmediavault :-/
mmh... I got also a few other errors by clicking 'Check' but there are gone now... curious.
Never mind, thanks for your help!
yep, 12.5 was pushed, but that dont avowed the other errors
sth. weird happened....
i clicked on 'check for updates' and reloaded the page at the moment of ckecking - checked for updates again, first there was a lock warning, clicked again on check and its working....
I don't see plex in any of your outputs. btsync repo will be enabled if you need syncthing. Shouldn't hurt anything though.
My fault....
But why cant we update or check for updates? Any idea?
I removed Plex, BtSync and owncload... why are they still there?
I got the same Error today, no problems before.... curious.
I just wait a few Days before doing sth.
