  • Hello, good day to you sir!

I'm trying to create plugin. (And yes I've read the outdated guide)

I have a few simple questions.

What does "omv-mkconf" do and how is it different from "omv-confdbadm create"?

Why would "omv-mkconf" appear in a postrm i.e. for package "openmediavault-omvextrasorg"?

    Many thanks

    • I've added a post so care to add, please do so there -> omv-commands-and-helper-functions

    • Thanks for trying to add a plug-in. I am not a developer unfortunately. But I am willing to open a vm and test if you would like.

    • Thanks for the reply :)

It's currently under development. I'll let you know when it's finished.

I just needed some help around the code because there really isn't any documentation about the internals. (although I found plenty of examples!)

  • Hi

How do I request help here with sftp not working

  • I am help-me , I would make the integration with AD , I noticed that you have been successful and would like a help because I'm not getting ... thank you ...

    • Will try to help but the best way is to start a thread. Give as mush detail as you can. Did you try my script? https://forum.openmediavault.o…?postID=149928#post149928

    • Hi Donh! I'm in the same situation with OMV3. I would like now to run you script. As I have understood I have to replace with my domain.local, is this correct? Should I also uncomment lines? This is not clear.... may you help me please? I really need to grant the OMV users by the AD authentication. Thanks a lot.

    • You should not need to comment or uncomment any lines. Just run the script. It will ask the domain to join and change the needed parts.

Let me know how it goes. If you can try it in a clean install in a vm.

      Good luck

    • Thank you for your reply.
Here is the result, starting from a new VM:

Please enter the domain you wish to join: UPPER CASE?
Please enter a domain admin login to use:
kinit: Cannot contact any KDC for realm 'TIRUS.LOCAL' while getting initial credentials
Host is not configured as a member server.
      Invalid configuration. Exiting....
Failed to join domain: This operation is only allowed for the PDC of the domain.

    • Try editing /etc/nsswitch.conf. Edit the line to look like this.

      hosts: files dns mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return]

The line giving the error kinit $ADMIN. $ADMIN is the user you entered.

Also look at /etc/krb5.conf. It should show your domain as
      default_realm = your domain
