problem encrypt external disk aesni_intel padlock_aes module not loaded
aesni_intel
padlock_aes
encryption
cryptsetup
LUKS
Hi, I have some problem encrypting the external disk
I have T6570 which does not have harware AES
modprobe dm-crypt
modprobe sha256
modprobe aes, this command gave me error says
ERROR: could not insert 'aesni_intel ': No such device
ERROR: could not insert 'padlock_aes': No such device
Then I put
alias aes aes_generic
into /etc/modprobe.d/aliases
rerun modprobe aes still gave me the same problem.
So what can I do with this?
cryptsetup --verify-passphrase luksFormat /dev/sdb1 -c aes -s 256 -h sha256 works,
but cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdb1 securebackup will error with invalid format
