Mounted UFS RAID1 disk copy to RAID5 Ext4: How to for Rookies please?

  • Hello guys,

as you can see I am a rookie in this Forum and my linux days are a bit ago.

First I'd like to ask the question and then give all Background info I can provide.

I need to copy content from 2 1TB UFS disks I have been using as raid1 in FreeNAS 0.69 Muad'dib.
In my new OMV4 NAS I have 3 additional 1 TB disks that are RAID5 on ext4.

I was able with a bit of reading and trying to mount the UFS drives in OMV, they are visible and mounted as read only in the file system section /dev/sdc1 and sdd1.

My problem now is that I have idea how to copy that data, that I can also see in /mnt to the newly assembled raid5 3x1TB.

Some People suggest RSYNC others DD for that. i have now idea how to do it right.
My thoughts where to simply copy one UFS drive (as they have been mirrored) to the ext 4 raid 5
I'd like to then empty the old UFS raid disks and grow the raid5.

This raid5 I'd later want to backup with an external 4TB drive.

    Here is my hardware:
    - ASUS E45M1i-Deluxe MoBo (5SATA, 1 eSATA, AMD E450 APU)
    - 4 GB of DDR3 RAM
    - 2x 1TB WD10EADS WD green 3.5"
    - 3x 1TB Seagate ST1000LM048 2.5"
    - 1x 4TB Seagate ST4000LM024 2.5" for backup over eSATA
    - USB attached IDE 1.8" 40GB Toshiba MK4004GAH Systemdrive.
    - Pico ATX PSU ~120W

Can somebody help with a clever copy UFS scheme please?

    Thanks!
