So, I've upgraded to 1.0 and worked out most of the kinks. I'm still having issues with Active Directory integration and accessing shares from a Windows 7/8 machine.
Here is the kicker: I have an SMB fileshare on the OMV server, when I access the OMV machine by the hostname \\OMV i'm prompted for a password. No matter what I put here, I cannot login. If I access it by IP address or even another dns name that is CNAMEd to the hostname \\10.219.10.45 or \\openmediavault. It works without issue. Also, I can access it by hostname from another domain host. Once I'm prompted for credentials and enter DOMAIN\user and password, it works as well.
I've enabled debug on samba: here is the info in the log where the failure happens.

I can't for the life of me figure out why it works one way and not the other. Any help appreciated.
