at first sorry for my english ...
At the moment im using WHS2011 on a HP Microserver Gen7 but i want try OMV.
I have an external USB backup device (Fantec QB-35US3) connected to my machine, i want to use it also with OMV for 1:1 data backup.
The problem is i dont want to keep that USB backup device running 24/7, so im using a little script on my WHS2011 that simply start/stop it.
When there is no active USB connection to the backup device it will turn off(standby), when you "restart" the USB connection it will turn on.
Thats a feature of the backup device.
So every morning the script "restarts" the usb connection and after successful Allway Sync backup it will remove it and the backup devices turns off.
Is there a chance to accomplish this also with OMV ?
*EDIT* Just an idea, i think its also possible with a USB sleep/standby function, like QNAP has.
Is this a feature of OMV ?
