Thanks for your answer.
But I think it's strange, that my new bought USB-Stick is dead after about 40h running time.

Hello guys,
I've a problem with my NAS and I can't boot up anymore. Details here: http://forum.openmediavault.or…?postID=142148#post142148
Any ideas for that?
Thanks!

The kernel panic is gone after filesystem recovery, but I've a hardware error now.
I plugged my USB-Stick with OMV (flashmemory installed) to my Ubuntu maschine and it did a filesystem recovery (logged in dmesg). I backuped a few files and then I tried to boot up my nas again. After that I got that hardware error. Does this mean, that my USB-stick is dead? If yes, how can that happen? Or what do you think?
Thank you for your help!

Hey guys,
I've nearly the same problem.
My nas won't boot up and my grub is not working properly as I can't choose an option or start grub-shell.
The failure came during a shutdown after a sucessfull WOL with magic packet.
How did you repair your kernel panic? or any ideas how to fix it?Thanks!

Ok, thanks.
Then I'm going to the option with the usb stick. -
Thanks for your quick reply.
Because I've all SATA ports occupied for data disks, I thought it would be a nice solution to install the OS on a nvme-ssd.
Do you think it's a better solution to install it on a usb-stick? How can I find out if my USB stick are using static wear leveling? I've 4GB RAM. -
Hello guys,
Recently, I discovered OMV and I want to install OMV3 on my NAS-machine. Unfortunately, I'm running in a few problems during installation.
Could you help me, please?Facts:
1. Installation from bootable usb stick to nvme-SSD (http://www.intel.com/content/w…e-drives-600p-series.html)
2. Unable to install GRUB
3. Tried to unplug usb-stick and execute commands in shell as described here: http://wiki.openmediavault.org/index.php?title=Installation
4. Tried to install grub with backport kernel and grub-efi as described here: http://www.poweredbyjeff.com/2…750-SSD-in-Debian-Jessie/
5. Tried to install grub as described here: https://wiki.debian.org/Instal…04thGen%20PCIe_SSD/jessieNothing worked and I'm running out of ideas.
Thanks!
