Did you have some dockers or any other heavy services running when the reshape was slow ?

Cause well the performence increase is impressive ! Great idea to boot on System Rescue !

The problem remain that the nas is unusable during the reshape ...

You can try to check your /etc/modprobe.d directory . Look inside the file it contain , it may have one which blacklist the driver of your card .

Make a move one it to keep it save in case .... and reboot.

It solve the prob for moreje (#3) and his rt8111 card. The file he removed was dkms.conf but it may be an other.

If docker is not what you want to use for rdp you can select your environment with the command (as root)

tasksel

next you can :

apt install xrdp tigervnc-standalone-server

then you can connect from windows rdp (select xvnc not xorg)
