looks like you are right. i just monitored cpu usage levels while it was scanning a few files. it was almost 99 % . n=and the nas was notably performing slow. so i have decided to ditch this whole clamav thing. what i think im gonna do is to schedule a scan every month using my PC's own antivirus software.

i ran this : ps -ef|grep clamd
output is this : root 21830 21821 0 18:58 pts/1 00:00:00 grep clamd
(i found this after googling the issue)
