it has been a while since I decided to get a storage solution. I decided to go with openmediavault.
I will use an old pc I have for this. I am looking with a tower with space for at least 5 hard disk at the moment.
I am not sure if I need to use a RAID 5 system or not.
Do you think I will good to go with just two hard disk, one for the OS and the other one for the backup, or is recommended that I invest in more hard disks for the storage?
I would like to have two hard disks with the same data copied on both of them for security reason, so that if one fails I have a backup of that.
At the moment I am backing up on external hard drive, but I need to copy the files two times, I have two 1tb hard drive, not a lot of files that I keep. I was thinking to upgrade to 2tb hard drives for the openmediavault.
edit: I think I will go with a RAID 1 as a setup, is this a wise choice in your opinion
