  • Sending SNMP Traps on hardware errors (SMART, MD RAID...)

    For now, the only way to know there is a disk failure, if we use RAID, is email or active monitoring of syslog, or some active plugins with tools like nagios.
    It would be great to send SNMP traps, it would help integration in commercial monitoring tools.


    I've searched a bit, and it doesn't seem there are standard MIBs for SMART errors, and certainly not for MD software RAID.


    Have someone already played with SNMP traps on Linux servers ?

    Is there some kind of "beta" version somewhere, or a repo to test ?
    I have some driver to backport and want to see if it works well with the new OMV release / Debian kernel.
    I also would like to test with a backported kernel (>3.12)...
