When a computer beeps it indicates that something is wrong. Since it happens after the bios it means that it is probably something with the motherboard.
Lookup the manual of the motherboard and check if it says something about those beep codes.

Does anyone who also lives in the Netherlands also want to order this kit? If so, we can combine our orders, get some discount and split the delivery fee.

So, you got hw acceleration working in the plug-in?
-
So yeah, I still don't know what causes this behaviour, but I decided to share this, in case someone else is having trouble with his Emby docker container.
Nothing of note in the docker container logs? You might need to enable some debug logging.

Have you tried the following? https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/…scoding_with_plex_docker/

Hi CSM,
Both prospects you linked look kinda dead. This fork of OpenEats looks more promising: https://github.com/RyanNoelk/OpenEats.
However, the advised way to run this is in Docker. Looks hard from the outset but once you get the hang of it, it's quite straightforward.Good luck!

Solved it by installing ffmpeg, intel drivers and dep. from the backport repo.
Did you attach a monitor to your nas?
I am trying to get va-api working but x won't start. -
I think the overhead, caused by the ZFS-FS itself, is less than 8TB. You loose 6 TB for redundancy: 24TB - 6 TB = 18TB. Then you have to subtract the efficiency overhead, which is aprox. 92,4% for RAIDZ2 with 8 disks (see table in that link):18TB x 92,4% = 16,63TB which is equal to 15,14 TíB.
I think everything is OK with your pool.
You could try to create a striped RAID Z4 with 4 disks per each RAIDZ2. Maybe then you have less overhead.
Thank you for your explanation, it makes sense! So 15 TB is the size of my pool.

What is the output of
zpool status
and
zfs list <poolname>?Your usable space can be seen under 'AVAIL'.
I think the unit of the reported value is TiB not TB.There is also some overhead: https://serverfault.com/questi…-on-4k-sector-disks-going
Thank you for your reply!
As per your questions:Code

I figured there would be overhead but hoped it would be less then 8TB but if it is so, then it is so. -
So I just set up my first ZFS storage pool, a raidz2 with 8 3TB hard drives. To my surprise I only have 15TB of storage space available. Is this right? I was under the impression that I would have 18TB of storage space.

Hi Cody00, I've got the exact same issue as you had.
You mentioned something about resolving the issue with Repos. Can you elaborate or provide more details?
Cheers
Better late then never but you can find the answer here!

Then maybe you are not clear in what you are trying to ask? Also, there are guides out there, you only need to know where to look.
But to the topic at hand: in what manner do you want to access your server? If you just want to access (download/upload) some files, I would use WinSCP
If you want to have a network connection just like in your home lan then I would use OpenVPN. That requires an OpenVPN server setup with a working configuration (stuff like cryptographic keys, address range, etc) and a client installation on your Windows machine. Those are just a few of the possibilities.

I have created a tested machine with OpenMediaVauld in a Virtual machine, as I want to see how it works, but when I tried to add a few VM HD’s I discovered that I was only able to do this via a RAID controller, which is OK for my main backup storage as I am going to have two 8TB HD in a mirror, but I would also like to have a single 4 TB HD connected.
Is this possible as I can’t work out how.
Yes, simply connect a hdd to a sata port and it will show up in the GUI. I have no experience with OMV in a virtual machine but my guess is that your inability to add a disk normally is due to OMV running in a virtualized environment. Also, doing some reading does your software spin down External USBS hard drivers?
Yes, you can configure your disks to spin down after a certain amount of time.I am a bit confused about the update manager, as when I click on this I am giving a lot of packages.Do I need to install all or any of them ?
You need to install each and everyone of them. Running a Linux distribution really makes you appreciate the amount of cogs there are in "the machine" ;). -
You have to edit your apt sources list. Normally this is located at /etc/apt/sources but in your case the entry you need to put a # in front of is probably located in one of the lists located at: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

I will check more systems but I'm not seeing this on my test system.
Same here, my OMV3.0 box updated without any problem.

Ah. Going to jbod the discs. Would unionfilesystems be better? I've never heard of this before.
If you are going jbod, I would look into stuff like SnapRAID to add some parity.

gkellm.exe -s 192.168.0.2 -p 19150 (wich worked for my Windows Home Server)That does not look right to me. However, I could be mistaken because I have zero experience with gkrellm.
If you are looking for the right command and switches to be used, check this. -
I think lowpower is out of the question.
You can but low power Xeon's are expensive, even second hand ones. For example the Xeon E3-1240L v3 has a TDP of 25 Watts. I am using a i3 at the moment which is enough for the 1-2 HD video streams which need to be encoded to another bitrate.

Thank you @ryecoaaron, that fixed it for me!
